ART

Peter Andrew:

"Great person. Likes to wax on about every philosophy known to man. Lots of personal experience in the field of advertising and a talented artist himself. Very concerned about individual progress of students. Talks a lot about seemingly nothing. Should have been a motivational speaker." --ART

Beason:

"If there is a person on Earth who can teach you to draw, it is Mr. Beason. You have to be totally open with him. He won't have it any other way. He can diagnose your work in two seconds better than anyone else could even if they stared at it for weeks. you will love your drawing class!" --ART

"Basically, if you want to take a class that hardly follows a syllabus or a class that is void of really any professor/student working relationship (in other words, you're on your own) Grades are based on who only knows what. A non stimulating environment, where people have been known to take naps in the corner." --ART

Jill Carrington:

"A highly educated woman who KNOWS her architecture! Likes to give lot's of id quizzes. Friendly. Hilarious when it comes to the discussion of the male nude in art." --ART

"Mrs. Carrington is a genuinely nice lady, and she seems to really care about what she is teaching and that you learn it successfully." --ART

Fenci:

"Don't take his ceramics class if you're interested in a new hobby. He is very serious and expects a lot from his students. If you want to know anything, he'll teach it to you. His goal is to teach you enough so that you can go out on your own and be a ceramist. This class isn't for someone looking for an easy elective. In the very least, you'll come away with a greater appreciation for the art of ceramics. The class is laid back, but when it comes to the critiques, you MUST be there and you MUST have work that that you've put a lot into, or you'll be hating life." --ART

"Expect to come in to work outside of class on assignments, ALOT! Having to come up in the evenings or even weekends isn't surprising. Some of your grade is even based on how often you work outside of class and the extra effort you put forth." --ART

Gary Frields:

"Highly eccentric. Likes to crack jokes. Has a cool lake house that he designed and often throws parties at. He is very into being involved in every step of the creative process. Bring your tracing paper to his class for roughs!" --ART

"Frields is crazy which makes him a great teacher. you never know what to expect. He is very concerned with the creative process, not just producing work. If you aren't working in his class, you are laughing." --ART

Kinsell:

"Kinsell has a refreshingly professional approach to teaching art. He gives good suggestions and is honest about how good or bad you are doing." --ART

David Lewis:

"Interesting discussion. Has lots of on-the-side material and art interpretations which stimulate thought in many different areas. Doesn't give as many tests as Carrington. Generally thought of as the easier Art History prof." --ART

Mary Mcleary:

"Creates the coolest collages from random "junque" and expresses her Christian beliefs in the process. This, I find very cool." --ART

Dr. Roach:

"Highly spoken of. Single-handedly upgraded SFA's computer art lab into a high tech mecca." --ART

Lou: Office lady

"One word: SCARY. Have frightening fascination w/ frogs. Get on her good side is all I can say!"

"It isn't completely her fault that she is the way she is. She is overworked. If someone else can help you, then avoid her for your sake and hers."
