Call for Participation

African America 2000

An African-American Studies Mini-Conference,

Stephen F. Austin State University


African America 2000 is a two-day interactive conference for people of all ages. Its purpose is to explore and celebrate all aspects of the African American culture, past and present. The conference will take place on Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17, 1999.

We are looking for interesting presenters who will appeal to any age, preschool to senior citizens. The entire community is welcome. Although the main theme is African-American culture, the mode of presentation is up to the presenter.

Presentations can be 20 minutes to an hour long. Please submit a 30-100 word summation of your presentation. Please include the length, time constraints (times of the day you cannot present), and target audience of your presentation as well as your audio-visual and space needs.
