                     DIRECTIONS TO HEAVEN:
First of all, WHOSOEVER will, must make a U-turn on the
"Road to Repentance."
Then make a Right onto "Believeth Blvd." Keep Straight
and go through the Green Light which is JESUS CHRIST.
From there, you must turn onto the "Bridge of Faith,"
which carries you over troubled water.
When you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and keep
straight. You are on the "King's Highway" - Heaven-
bound. Keep going for three miles: One for the Father, One
for the Son, and One for the Holy Ghost.
Take the "Grace Blvd." exit. From there, make a Right
turn onto "Gospel Lane." Keep Straight and then make
another Right onto "Prayer Blvd."
As you travel on your way, yield not to the traffic on
"Temptation Ave." Avoid "Sin Street" because it is a
DEAD END. Pass up "Envy Drive" and "Hate Avenue."
Also pass "Hypocrisy Street," "Gossiping Lane," and
"Backbiting Blvd." But you will have to travel down
"Long-suffering Lane", "Persecution Blvd.," and "Trials
and Tribulations Avenue."
From there make another Right onto "Peace Street." Keep
Straight and you will come to the "Parking Lot of
Immortality." It's all right to park here.
Get out of the body and junk it. Go into the building not
made by hands. Sit down and talk to KING JESUS. Tell
Him all about your troubles and dwell in His House FOREVER!

                                     THE CHAIR
A man's daughter asked the local minister to come and pray with her father.
When the minister arrived, he found the old man lying in bed with his head
propped up on two pillows and an empty chair beside his bed. The
minister assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his visit.
"I guess you were expecting me," he said.
"No, who are you?"
"I'm the new associate pastor at your church," the minister said. "When I
saw an empty chair, I figured you knew I was going to show up."
"Oh, yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man. "Would you mind closing   the door." Puzzled, the minister shut the door.
"I've never told anyone this, not even my daughter," said the man. "But all
of my life I have never known how to pray. At Sunday Service, I used to
hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it always went over my head...".
"I abandoned any attempt at prayer," he continued, "until one day about four
years ago my best friend said to me, ‘Joe, prayer is a simple matter of
having a conversation with Jesus. Here's what I suggest. Sit down, place
an empty chair in front of you, and in faith, see Jesus on the chair.'"
"It's not spooky because He promised, ‘I'll be with you always' Then speak
to Him and listen in the same way you're doing with me right now."
"So, Pastor, I tried it and liked it so much that I do it a couple of hours a  day. I'm careful though. If my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair,
she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm."
The minister was deeply moved and encouraged the old man to continue on
the journey. Then he prayed with him and returned to the church.
Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her daddy died
early that afternoon. "Did he seem to die in peace?" he asked.
"Yes, when I left the house around two o'clock, he called me over to his
bedside, told me one of his corny jokes, and kissed me on the cheek."
"When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him dead. But there
was something strange, Pastor. In fact, beyond strange - kinda weird.
Apparently, just before Daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head on
a chair beside the bed."

                        HEAVEN'S GROCERY STORE
I was walking down life's highway a long time ago One day I saw a sign
that read, HEAVEN'S GROCERY STORE.' As I got closer, the door came open wide.
When I came to myself, I was standing inside. I saw a host of ANGELS.
They were standing everywhere. One handed me a basket and said, "My Child, shop with care."
Everything a Christian needed was in that grocery store. And all you
couldn't carry, you could come bact the next day for more.
First, I got some PATIENCE; LOVE was, in the same row.
Further down was UNDERSTANDING--you need that everywhere you go.
I got a box or two of WISDOM, a bag or two of FAITH,
I just couldn't miss the HOLY GHOST, for it was all over the place.
I stopped to get some STRENGTH and COURAGE to help me run this race. By then my basket was getting full, but I remembered I needed some GRACE.
I didn't forget SALVATION, for SALVATION was free. So I tried to get enough of that to save both you and me. Then I started up to the counter to pay my grocery bill, For I thought I had everything to do the MASTER'S will. As I went up the aisle, I saw PRAYER and I just had to put that in.
For I knew when I when I stepped outside, I would run into sin.
PEACE and JOY were plentiful, they were the last on the shelf.
SONG and PRAISE were hanging near, so I just helped myself.
Then I said to the ANGEL, "Just how much do I owe?"
He smiled and said, "Just take them everywhere you go."
Again, I smiled and said, "How much do I really owe?"
He smiled again and said, "MY CHILD, JESUS PAID YOUR BILL A LONG, LONG TIME AGO."
"ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER YOU SHALL ASK IN PRAYER,
BELIEVING, YOU SHALL RECEIVE." (MATTHEW 21.22)

 NO TIME
I knelt to pray, but not for long,
I had too much to do,
Must hurry off and get to work,
For bills would soon be due.
And so I said a hurried prayer,
Jumped up from my knees,
My Christian duty was now done,
My soul could be at ease.
All through the day I had no time,
To speak a word of cheer,
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I feared.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry.
No time to give to those in need --
My soul believed the lie.
But then I had a fearful dream,
Which I can ne'er forget.
I saw myself approach the throne,
That was in judgement set.
And when before the Lord I came,
I stood with downcast eyes,
For in His hand He held a book,
It was the Book of life.
God looked into His Book and said,
"Your name I cannot find,
I once was going to write it down,
But never found the time."

                                    FOOTPRINTS

O
ne night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along a beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him,
and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the
very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is
only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you the most you would leave me."
The LORD replied, "My son, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

          MORNING PRAYER
                  Remind Me

Dear God, when I am lonely, and
Perhaps I feel despair,
Let not my ailing heart forget
That you hear every prayer,
Remind me that no matter what
I do or fail to do,
There still is hope for me as long
As I have faith in You,
Let not my eyes be blinded by
Some folly I commit,
But help me regret my wrong
And to make up for it.
Inspire me to put my fears
Upon a hidden shelf,
And in the future never to
Be sorry for myself.
Give me the restful sleep I need
Before another dawn,
And bless me in the morning with
The courage to go on.

 PSALMS 23
A PSALM OF DAVID

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths

of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea though I walk through the valley of the

shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art

with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence

mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil;

my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the

days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the

LORD for ever.

I can allow you freedom, but I cannot make you believe.
I can teach you right from wrong, but I cannot always decide for you.

I can give you love, but I cannot force it upon you.
I can teach you to share, but I cannot make you unselfish.
I can teach you respect, but I cannot force you to show honor.
I can advise you about sex, but I cannot keep you pure.
I can tell you about the facts of life, but I cannot build your reputation.
I can tell you about drink, but I can't say "no" for you.
I can warn you about drugs, but I can't prevent you from using them.
I can tell you about lofty goals, but I can't achieve them for you.
I can teach you about kindness, but I can't force you to be gracious.
I can warn you about sins, but I cannot make you moral.
I can love you as a child, but I cannot place you in God's family.
I can pray for you, but I cannot make you walk with God.
I can teach you about Jesus, but I cannot make Jesus your Lord.
I can tell you how to live, but I cannot give you eternal life.
