Scouting Report
- Tom is one of the top catching prospects in New Jersey from the Class of 2002. He is a stand-out player for both AAU and high school baseball. Notice his STATS above which show his abilities as a hitter. He was selected to Team New Jersey to represent his state at the Blue-Grey Baseball Classic at Wake Forest in August of 2000. What a Tournament he had! Tom threw out five of six runners attempting to steal second base and stole seven out of eight bases himself while going three for six with two RBI's. He was Selected to the All Tournament Team although he is only a 2002 graduate. We are looking for even bigger and better things from this fine prospect as he matures.

As a pitcher he had a combined high school and summer league record of 14 wins and only 4 losses with a 2.25 ERA. Already throwing on the Jugs Gun 83-85 mph he is on target for Division I Baseball. As a hitter he has hit for average and is beginning to unleash power. We look forward to seeing him play in the spring as he should be really something by then. Super prospect!

References:
Ed Mcrae, former Coach of Team USA would like to recommend one of his summer league players, who has just completed a real quality high school season.  Ranked as one of the top players in the entire shore area (48 schools), Issac batted .516, posted a 8-1 pitching record and led his team, in almost every offensive category.  A shortstop and pitcher, he is a prospect to watch in the future, as he just completed his junior year in high school.  After coaching college baseball for 28 years, to include a stint with Team USA, I can truly recommend Issac Friedel as a potential Division I player.  He possesses the ability and drive to continue to improve.
Michael Condon, a former player in the Anaheim Angels Farm System and current Executive Scout of the St. Louis Cardinals recommends Issac as an impact player who can hit for power.  Issac is consistent in solid contact and has the ability to drive the ball over the wall.  He drives the ball well in all fields.  When his skinny 6-foot plus frame fills out, doubles will turn into homeruns.  He can also hit for average while understanding the strike zone and approaches the plate with a plan and is well disciplined.  His comfort in going deep in the count and taking what the pitcher gives him is a key in his ability to hit for average.  On defense, he has great range and a great arm.  I believe concentration on his footwork will elevate his defensive game.  It will put him in a better position to show off his arm strength.
