2003 Schedule

Blue-Grey Classic I

The 2003 Classic will be held on August 13, 14, and 15 at Wake Forest University. This three-day tournament, in its twelfth year, attracts over seventy colleges from the Mid-South Region as well scouts from most major league teams. Team New England, Team Pennsylvania, Team Southeast, Team North Carolina, Team Florida and Team Mid Atlantic will compete.

Blue-Grey Classic II

The Fourth Annual Blue-Grey Classic II has the same qualifying format as the Blue-Grey I and will be held at the College of William & Mary on August 18, 19, and 20. Teams participating include Team New England, Team New York, Team New Jersey, Team Virginia, Team Maryland and Team Heartland.  We have averaged over 50 colleges and 11 Major League Teams at this event.

Blue-Grey Classic III

Jacksonville University, FL - July 22, 23 & 24. This will be our 2nd year in Jacksonville where two regional teams from the North will play against three Florida teams and one Mid-South team.  Last year we had 47 colleges and 11 Major League Teams recruit our prospects.

 

Blue-Grey Classic IV

Coastal Carolina University, SC - August 22, 23, & 24 Now in it’s 3rd year featuring prospects from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Florida, the Northeast and beyond.  Last year there were 41 colleges and 12 Major League Teams in attendance to recruit our prospects.

 

Blue-Grey Classic V - National Battle of the States I

Tampa Bay Devil Rays Spring Training Complex, St. Petersburg, FL - July 25, 26 & 27 

18 regional or state teams will compete for the championship while playing in front of over 100 colleges and Pro-Scouts. 


 


Blue-Grey Classic VI - Blue-Grey Showtime – Cleveland Indians (FL) August 29th, 30th, & 31st

Blue-Grey Classic VII

University of Tennessee - Tennessee Classic - August 8, 9 & 10. This is our inaugural year and we will feature 3 teams from Tennessee, 1 from Kentucky, 1 from Alabama and 1 at large team. 

 

Blue-Grey Classic VIII - National Battle of the States II – St. Louis Cardinals (FL) - Oct. 31st, Nov 1st  & 2nd


Pre-Draft Evaluation

May 11  - Tampa Bay Devil Rays - Florida Power Park   Major League Teams take a last look at projected Draft Choices before the 2003 June Draft.

Blue-Grey Showtime

December 6 & 7, 2003 (at Jack Russell Stadium, Clearwater Florida--spring training home field of the Philadelphia Phillies). The 3rd Annual Showtime Showcase featuring seniors who did not sign in the early signing period and underclassmen looking to start the recruiting process.  

 

CLASSIC SUCCESS RATE

During our twelve years in promoting high school talent to the colleges, over 1400 of our prospects from Maine to Florida have gone on to partial or full baseball scholarships. We have also had 156 prospects drafted by Major League Baseball Clubs.


 

Nominations for Blue-Grey Classics (2003)

Nominations for the Blue-Grey Classics are currently being accepted. Submissions should be projected as Division I or II College or Pro Prospects. Players selected will be exempt from Regional Try-Outs.

Note! All players who are selected for invitations to the Classic will be notified by Priority Mail. Each nomination will be screened within three weeks of their submission. You are welcome to call us after that time frame to see if a player has been accepted, or not, on hold, or needing to attend a Regional Try-out to determine his ability.
