Case Opens in Ohio February 14, 2000
CLEVELAND (Reuters) - Now, armed with
new DNA evidence, Sam Sheppard's son will attempt to
prove that his father, Dr. Sam Sheppard did not kill his
mother, Marilyn, wife of Dr. Sheppard,. If you recall,
the movie " The Fugitive," spawne d from this
sensational who-dunnit 1954 murder case. Dr. Sheppard
maintained his innocence from the beginning. If his son
can convince the courts that his father was innocent, he
will receive $2million dollars from the state for
wrongful imprisonment of his dad.
Teen Columbine High School
Sweethearts Killed February 14, 2000
LITTLETON, Colo. (Reuters) - Two Columbine High School
sweethearts were found shot to death early on Monday --
Valentine's Day -- at a popular sandwich shop just two
blocks from the school where the 1999 massacre took place.
and 15 people were killed.
Found at the scene were a boy, 15, and a girl, 16, both
attended Columbine High in the Denver suburb of Littleton.
Apparently they were dating each other.
Columbine was the scene of the worst high school shooting
in U.S. history last April 20 when two teenage gunmen,
Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, killed 12 students and a
teacher before taking their own lives.
Police are investigating the crime as a double murder and
not a murder-suicide. While there was no immediate motive,
police said they were probing the possibility that
robbery was involved. .

The Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) Mars
Orbiter Camera (MOC) captured this unique view of a
bright, heart-shaped mesa in the south polar region on
November 26, 1999. This feature is located in the
Promethei Rupes region near 79.6°S, 298.3°W. Sunlight
illuminates the scene from the lower left. The heart is
about 255 meters (279 yards) across. The presence of this
mesa indicates that the darker, rough terrain that
surrounds it was once covered by a layer of the bright

 'NEAR spacecraft
rendezvous with Eros February 14,
2000
At 11:00 a.m. Eastern time, navigation data from the Near
Earth Asteroid Rendezvous spacecraft indicates NEAR has
achieved orbit around asteroid 433 Eros
NEAR is now the first spacecraft to successfully lock
into orbit around an asteroid,"
At 10:33 a.m., with Eros about 203 miles (327 kilometers)
below, NEAR's small hydrazine thrusters fired for 57
seconds, slowing the spacecraft's approach to walking
speed and easing it into the asteroid's weak
gravitational pull. The rendezvous took place about 160
million miles (256 million kilometers) from Earth.

PUERTO RICO'S MYSTERY MUMMY
The body of a strange being--allegedly not native to this
world--is being hidden from the Federal government's eyes
somewhere in Puerto Rico.
A Puerto Rican ufologist, Jorge Martin published photos
of what looks like an alien. These photos were in the
winter issue of "Evidencia Ovni" magazne. These
photos have existed since the 1980's.
The story goes that a cattle rancher in
the northern part of Puerto Rico, alarmed at the high
number of cattle being mutilated decided enough was
enough. He and two others, armed with 30-30 rifles, hid
one night determined to capture whoever was mutilating
the cattle.
One evening, from beyond a nearby mountain stream, four
small, strange creatures walked into his stable and came
out with a small cow. They say the cow was floating above
the ground, and above the creatures. The rancher and his
crew fired at the group, hitting one of them.
The creature fell to the ground as did the cow. The three
remaining creatures tried to retrieve the wounded one,
which was trying to get to its' feet. The rancher and his
friends fired another round of bullets at the creatures,
who ran off into the night, leaving their comrade behind.
The men ran up to the creature, one of them delivering a
crushing blow to the creature's head with a piece of wood,
killing it.
This creature has been in and out of freezers for the
past decade. The rancher did allow his relatives to
photograph it. The rancher has refused to step forward or
to allow any authority to examine it due to fears of
cover ups, or any other action that may be taken against
him to do so.
