William Michael Vanders - Lead Vox and Lead Guitar

From the depths of urban struggle, true pearls within commercial music decadence forged SoulgasM. Well that and the fact that none of us truely enjoy working. (I guess misery thinks three's a crowd)Besides what else are we going to do crammed into a two bedroom apartment? (agrue)Do you know what it was like living with Ron O'Conner, A LIVING HELL, MAN! (understatement) By the way, you can ignore all that B.S. on Ron's page, sometimes he trys to be alittle too poetic (shock rock) Music has always been my life, if you talk to anyone who knows me anyway. My role in the band is more on a compositional level. I am also the glue and the motor. I tend to be the one worrying about having solid but, innovative chord changes. My guitar style has been heavy influenced by punk, funk, and blues/jazz. My sound is derived from Jazz/Funk expressed through blues and also adding an attack of punk energy, giving me an angry and technical edge to my lead playing. Threw education and practice I've learned the value of enlightenment through music. I worked hard for Fourteen years to aquire the skills I have in music. I like to write latin and bebop jazz compositions in my spare time. Richie and I compose all music and lyrics. I think the sound becomes pure expression when we all come together and the music just flows between friends that trust each other. We have definately grown as a group and hopefully this is just the begining. (again, I guess Misery thinks three's a crowd) UPDATE: Well Alot has change sense then, including my humility, but we are together and as strong as ever.

I would like to especially thank:

First off, GOD, then my parents for always supporting me Chelle Sutyak and family, Richie Derek and Ron for putting up with my B.S. Jello Biafra for awakening my brain. John Lennon for enlightning my mind. My surronding family that has always always believed in me. John Frusciante on RHCP for finally breaking through to me with Duke Ellingtons quote "less is more". Dead Kennedys for not being afraid to question authority and trying to make change not anarchy. John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk And Charels Mingus, respectively. Hebbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard and Kevin Eubanks of the tonight Show. KRS1 and ChuckD for opening my eyes. Minor Threat/Fugazi for doing the right thing in the music scene. Living Color.
