This deck was built for a client because the existing
deck was rotted beyond repair. His house was up for
sale and the terimite report called for the old one
to be removed.
The framing of the deck was made of Pressure treated double 2"x12"'s D.F. The
joists were pressure treated 2"X 8"'s D.F. placed at 16" on center spacing.
The deck boards were 2"x6" Con-heart Redwood nailed down with galvinized 16 penny
finish nails. The posts were conheart redwood 4"x4"'s double bolted into the joists
with 3/8"x7" galvenized carraige bolts. No.15lb felt paper was cut into 2" strips
and stapled to the top of the joists to prevent water wicking up into the bottom of the deck board causing premature
rotting. The spindels are 2"x2" clear redwood and the railing is 2"x4" conheart
selected with care to insure straightness. A 2"x6" conheart cap was placed on the rail.
After the wood had seasoned for a few weeks, two coats of CWF were applied according to manufacturers
specifications.

The deck was approximately 900 sq. ft. and when we were done the owner took the house off the
market and enjoyed the new outdoor living space!

|
The skirting under the deck is made of Redwood lattice of extra thickness (5/8")
to guarentee against wind damage and the familys' play activities in the area.

This is a picture of the custom Redwood fence we built for the next door neighbors.
They saw the craftmanship and quailty used on the deck job and hired us to build
this 256 liner ft. long fence! It is made from redwood conheart 1"X6"X5'lumber.The posts
are pressure treated 4x4's embedded into the gound 2 ft. or more and than anchored
with concrete. The sloping terrian made it a challenge but as you see we accomplished
the task with astetic beauty!
