INDIA'S LARGEST GROWER AND EXPORTER OF CUT ROSES

 BRIEF BACKGROUND

Deccan Florabase Limited has finally been able to bring to India a unique project of its kind for Cut Roses. Located on the Deccan Plateau at a distance of 125 kms from the city of Mumbai (formerly Bombay) and 45 kms from the city of Pune, the project has been conceived, planned and executed meticulously. Over 425,000 rose plants from some of the best sources of the world have been planted under specially designed greenhouses covering an area of 65,000 sq. meters, 6.50 hectares or 16.20 acres, making it one of the most ambitious projects of its kind in the country. State of the art technology has been adopted for irrigation and crop management under technical guidance and supervision from The Netherlands.

 LOTS OF VARIETIES

Fifteen of the most carefully selected international varieties of Cut Roses, in an array of colours, are available with all their splendour throughout the year. Modern post-harvesting techniques are being deployed at the farm where major investments have been made towards creating the required infrastructure leading to some of the best quality products that can be available. The size of the project itself, (10 million stems annually), assures availability of a continuous stream of flowers in each variety both in quality and quantity. Utmost attention, both in terms of technique and infrastructure necessarily assures international quality norms relating to stem lengths and vase life, depending on each variety. The stem lengths would be from a minimum of 40 cms to as high as 80 cms and the vase life upto 14 days.
