Welcome to the Miller Fly-Lites website! This is my first webpage and, therefore, will be updated as new information becomes available. For now, let me introduce my ultralight flight training business and share a few "links" to related ultralight sites. Check back occasionally to view the changes and/or E-mail me with your questions or comments.
If you have ever had the urge to fly, we can help make that dream come true. We are proud to be the southern San Joaquin valley's first and only Authorized Quicksilver Ultralight Flight Training Center. We feature United States Ultralight Association (USUA) sanctioned Ultralight Pilot Training and Ground School. Our new Quicksilver MXLII Sport ultralight is not only the MOST POPULAR type trainer in the industry, but is also one of the SAFEST! Our 2-seat trainer comes fully equipped with a steerable nosewheel, brakes, radio communications, all the necessary flight instruments, and for added safety, a state-of-the-art ballistic parachute. Our flight instructor is a USUA registered Basic Flight Instructor (BFI), with over 500 hours flight experience in Quicksilver aircraft since 1992. Our #1 goal is to teach SAFE, RESPONSIBLE ultralight flying techniques, but we also strive to promote the growth of the ultralight community by sharing the exhilaration of open-cockpit flying.
Introductory flights can be as short as 15 minutes or over an hour. Instruction is available by appointment most evenings and on Saturdays & Sundays . Our flight center is based at Shafter, California's historic MINTER FIELD; located on Lerdo Rd. approximately 1 mile west of Hwy 99. (see "Link", below) Take the time to drive the short distance (15 miles) north of Bakersfield and enjoy a fascinating flight over North Kern Golf Course or Famoso Drag Strip. Fly low & slow along one of the many irrigation canals that distribute water throughout the rich agricultural area and view the colorful patterns of the world famous rose fields of Wasco,
"The Rose Capital of the World."

Although Quicksilver Manufacturing, Inc. was recently purchased, it is destined to become better than ever before. My partner (aka-wife) and I have toured all of the facilities, seen the high-tech machine shops, observed the well-stocked parts warehouse, and witnessed the completed kits ready for shipment to eager ultralight enthusiasts. But more importantly, we've met the new owners (Mr. Carl von Hirsch and Mr. Manuel Perez) and their staff. This dedicated team of people has the desire to manufacture and the passion to deliver the best ultralight aircraft available today!
