Teaching other people to make dolls or just giving them the
opportunity to put their own skills to use is one of the most enjoyable
experiences for me and my students. Many people have determined
that they would much rather give the gift of a doll to their loved ones
that they themselves made. To this end, I began these classes
for the young and the old. All interested students are welcome.
If you think you might want to come to Lake City, Colorado and make a doll
while you are here then you can use this web page as an opportunity to
prereserve yourself a spot at a time that is convenient for you.
The classes
are listed here to assist you. If you determine
that one of these classes is for you then just click on the MAKE
RESERVATION link at the bottom of this page and you can email me the
information needed to reserve a class for you. At that time I will
consult my books and confirm the reservation. We can then discuss
payment arrangements. The reservation will require a 25% deposit
that can be sent as a check, money order, cashiers check, or you can then
call (970)944-2256 to pay by credit card. Normal hours of operation
are Monday through Saturday 10am to 5pm. Special reservations
for times outside the normal business hours can be discussed. These
times are in Mountain Standard Time.
These classes range in price from $35.00 to $75.00 and start
at 10am. They then run until 12:00 noon when an hour break is taken.
After returning from lunch at 1pm the class typically takes until 4:00pm
to complete. At that time you will have your own LOVELY DOLL
to take home with you. The price includes instructions.
Doll clothing is not included though it is available in the doll shop.
Tools and supplies are provided for use during class or may be purchased.
Unless otherwise noted, prices are for dolls with cloth bodies. You
may bring a lunch or take a break. PLEASE PLAN TO TAKE THE
CLASS AHEAD as CLASS SIZE IS LIMITED. You can make RESERVATIONS
via email if you like.
These classes take two days and range
in price from $75.00 to $125.00. These classes are a bit more
involved than those that you will find in the doll in a day classes.
Other than the dolls being a bit more costly and taking a bit more time
to complete the classes work the same as the doll in a day classes with
the exception being that it will take two days to complete.
These are the most advanced doll classes
for the larger dolls that require more detail. These classes will
take as many days as are needed for you to be pleased with the doll you
are making. These classes range from $150 to $195. All
other aspects of the classes are the same as is described for doll in a
day.
SOME NOTES IMPORTANT TO ALL
CLASSES
The prices of the classes does not include clothing.
Unless otherwise noted prices are for dolls with cloth bodies.
There are circumstances where you may want to add other features to the
dolls such as cut out eyes. These additional features can increase
the cost of the doll class. Clothing can also be purchased
at the shop and numerous clothing options are available.
