The edge of your veil can be left plain for a delicate, soft and translucent effect that blends best with any style gown, or you can opt for a decorative edge to really dress up your look. The following list contains short descriptions of specific veil edges plus prices PER LAYER in the specified lengths. PLEASE NOTE: Three different prices in each length category are for the three different widths available (54" - 72" - 108"). The width will determine the fullness of each layer at its gathering point.
All reference to lengths conform to Creative Expressions' definitions and standards as stated on the Veil Lengths page.
There is no charge for a veil on custom made headpieces ordered from Creative Expressions, unless you want more than the two yards that is included with your custom made headpiece. This would be if you want to buy only a custom cut veil with a plain edge for another headpiece you have, for a Creative Expressions Bridal tiara, or for a headpiece ordered from one of Creative Expressions' vendors. If you would like more than two layers, ask for a special quote, otherwise the price for up to TWO layers are as follows:

Scalloped Edge...
This edge is a plain edge that is custom cut in scallops. The result will be a defined wavy edge. Cathedral length veils show a scallop the best, though a fingertip will be just as pretty.

Rolled or "Pencil" Edge...
The rolled edge (also called the Pencil edge because it is very narrow) creates a clean line that doesn't catch or snag on your gown or in your hair. You may recognize this edge as those thin white lines you find on the edge of veils you see in bridal magazines. This is available in the standard veil colors. However, this edge can be done in any color (perhaps to match your bridesmaid's gowns) or with metallic thread (gold or silver filament are the most commonly requested). For filament edging add 30% to the following prices. These prices are PER LAYER for the standard rolled edge:

Narrow Ribbon Edge...
1/4" or 1/2" satin craft ribbon can be used to edge your veil for a wider edge than the rolled edge. This can be done in the standard veil colors. Or, for a unique look you may choose to match this edge with your bridesmaid's gowns if perhaps they are in a softer pastel color. Although satin is the most requested, for a dramatic look we could use metallic gold ribbon. This edging is not recommended for blushers because the seam or rough edge of the veiling that will be hidden when the veil lies on your back will be seen by your guests when pulled over your face to the front. Folded Ribbon Edge...
Edges of any width where you want the veiling encased in fabric or ribbon, fall under this category. These edges should match very closely to the fabric of your gown so that the veil edge and your gown don't clash (swatch to match will be strongly recommended for today's varied gown colors). This kind of edge is very pretty on any length veil and works great for blushers because your guests don't see the rough edge of the veiling when it is pulled over your face. Pearled Edge...
The pearled edge has been rising in popularity in recent years and looks quite stunning on shorter veils. Synthetic pearls that are molded and permanently affixed to a string are attached to the bare edge of the veiling by machine. One beautiful effect involves attaching the pearls on top of a ribbon edge (for this option, you will need to add the costs for the ribbon edge and the pearled edge together for the total price of the combination) Prices PER LAYER for pearled edge:

Lace Edge...
Romance radiates from a lace edged cathedral veil. It is very elegant, but it can also vary a great deal in pricing. Embroidered or Re-embroidered lace that would be appropriate for veil edges range in price from an inexpensive $3/yard to well over $100/yard. I have several style of laces available to me, and if you are interested in lace edges, we can find a design pattern that coordinates with the lace that you may have on your gown. A swatch of fabric will be needed for this, and possibly a good photograph of your dress, so that a good match can be made to the pattern/style of the lace on your gown. You will have to pay for the lace that suits your needs best, and I will attach it to your veil for the following PER LAYER prices:

Curly Edge...
The secret to this edge lies in the use of clear fishing-line to create a curly effect on your veil. Especially effective in multiple-layered veils and can even be used in poufs.

Satin Cord/Soutache Edge...
This edge uses 3/8" wide satin roped cord in any color you desire and the cord must be sewn on by hand for the best look possible. Satin cord creates a heavy three-dimensional appearance to the edge of the veil and the edge lays very nicely in soft waves against your back. Another option is to have a flat braided satin or soutache trim attached to the edge of your veil at the same prices as listed below. These are PER LAYER prices:

Genuine Crystal Edge...
The crystal edge is made with your choice of genuine Swarovski Austrian or Aurora Borealis cut crystal beads, and, though very pretty, these veils can be quite heavy. But even so, they can be very much worth their weight in achieving that special look, if you can handle it at least for your wedding ceremony (detachable veil). Each crystal is sewn by hand at 1/2" intervals (further if you like) on the edge of the veil. If you want your veil to sparkle, the crystal edge will do it for you! And, if you would like me to restring the crystals into a necklace or other jewelry item(s) after your wedding, I will be glad to do it for you for a small fee. Note the two different price categories. Prices here are PER LAYER and include the cost of the Aurora Borealis crystals:
