Who We Are
Math skills in this country have been in decline for decades, and the curriculum developers keep coming up with creative new ways to introduce and teach the subject. It seems that the problem has been around so long, and the total lack of understanding of what arithmetic really is has become so pervasive, that we have become a country of "the blind leading the blind".
We believe there is a logical order to all learning, but this is especially true of arithmetic. Virtually all skills are built on the previous ones; most children struggling with math are missing some prerequisite skills.
It is our philosophy that when math is taught properly, in the correct order, it is simple, logical and fun.
Before you get started, you might want to take a moment and read the article, "A Short Course on the Human Brain". It will give you an idea of why we designed our system as we did and how it applies to learning. The following mini-lessons are taken directly from our tutor training handbooks for you, the parent / teacher, to use with your children. As always, the focus of our lessons is on showing you how to use our system to teach the children, rather than trying to create lessons for the children themselves.
