1SOLD-SOLD-SOLD!!!  Owen Wister's classic "The Virginian" (1st edition was published by MacMillan in April 1902) - this is a 19TH PRINTING done in August, 1903. Cloth hardcover with impressed multicolor designs and lettering - complete - eight b&w illustrations by Arthur Keller - 504 numbered pages plus 6 unnumbered pages of ads - about 5 1/2" x 7 3/4". In overall NEAR FINE condition (inside F, cover VG) - showing minor wear/tear - no DJ. Flaws, if any, are as published. One of the great western novels that helped create the American cowboy myth - coined the term "When you call me that, smile." $135.00

In overall VERY GOOD++ condition (inside NF, cover VG - soiled some and bumped) - showing minor wear/tear - no DJ. Does have the original owner's inked ID on the front page as follows: "Florence Blair Holmes Sept. 20/02." A nice tight copy - flaws, if any, are as published. One of the great western novels that helped create the American cowboy myth - coined the term "When you call me that, smile." Similar to the picture in one above. $145.00

3 A cheaper hardcover edition of Owen Wister's classic "The Virginian" - this particular copy appears to have been published (as a reprint) in February 1904. It contains no illustrations inside, but there is a multicolored litho print affixed to the front cover which shows much wear/tear (POOR condition and separated from the spine). But, the inside is VERY GOOD with 504 numbered pages PLUS 4 pages of ads. About 5"x7 1/4". $75.00

4 Whispering Smith by Frank H. Spearman, with 4 wonderful color illustrations by N.C. WYETH, published in 1906 (lst American edition/printing) by Charles Scribner's Sons of New York. Red cloth cover with impressed multicolored design - complete, 421 numbered pages plus 2 pages of ads - no DJ - shows normal wear/tear - tissue guard. In VERY GOOD condition - flaws, if any, are as published. Another one of the great early western novels that contributed to the American cowboy myth. About 5 3/8" x 7 3/4". $185.00

5 Nan of Music Mountain by Frank H. Spearman, 1916 first edition by Grosset & Dunlap (by arrangement with Scribner's) - 4 b&w illustrations by N.C. Wyeth. Blue cloth cover with impressed saddle design and red colored lettering - about 5 1/4" x 7 5/8" - 430 numbered pages plus 8 pages of ads. In VERY GOOD condition - normal wear/tear - no DJ - owner's inked name on front page. $100.00

6 Cloth covered hardback novel of high adventure on the American Southwest frontier by Captain Mayne Reid titled: "The War Trail or The Hunt of the Wild Horse." Published by Routledge, undated, but inked owner inscription at front is dated Sep 29th, 1892. About 5 1/4" x 7 1/4", no DJ, complete, 418 numbered pages plus several pages of ads. Engraved print at frontis - in overall GOOD condition, inside in VG condition - cover shows considerable wear/tear. $100.00

Copyright 1960 by McCracken - published by Promontory Press unknown date - in FINE condition, hardcover with gilded lettering, about 7 1/8" x 10 1/4" - 254 numbered pages. Original DJ is in VG condition showing some wear/tear - it has the retail price PLUS the reduced price sticker. $90.00

8 This spectacular book of American Cowboy prints was published in 1972, with a limited first printing of five thousand copies, by Swallow Press. Cloth hardcover in buff/cream color with 184 numbered pages loaded with classic cowboy prints edited by JOHN MEIGS. In FINE condition, about 12 1/4" x 9 1/4". Comes with the original unclipped dustcover (showing the retail price) which is in GOOD condition, complete, but contains several tears/rips. $160.00



9 Volumes I & II of Raymond M. Smith's Untold Tales of Early Nevada. Both softcovers, about 7 1/2" x 10", are author signed and in MINT condition. Vol.I, 201 numbered pages, is a 1997 First Printing. Vol.II, 161 numbered pages, is a 2003 First Printing. They are loaded with stories and tall tales of the early days in Wild West Nevada, and contain many b&w photos. $150.00
