Two related authentic documents, both in EXCELLENT condition with three folds each, and straight pin holes upper right . The first is a request dated June 21, 1901, handwritten in ink, on 8 1/2" x 11" paper with a printed letterhead of "APEX SALOON, L.P. ROLL & CO. W.P. KIRBY, Manager. Altman, Colo.". Altman is inked out and "Goldfield" is written in front of it - it is signed by M.M. Creedy & Chas. Oakley, and they are asking the town of Goldfield to grant them a license to keep a Saloon at Lot 16 in Block 16. Second document is a "SURETY BOND - Revised 1889" (The Out West Printing Co), filled out in ink, in the amount of two thousand dollars, given by Creedy, Oakley, S.A. Van Tilberg, and J.S. Murphy, to the town, for the Saloon License. Signatures of all four men at the bottom. $395.00

A ink handwritten two page letter dated August 23, 1901 showing the litho letterhead of the "COLORADO STATE BOARD OF HEALTH" - Officers and Members are listed at the top right, and the State Capitol Building is shown on the left side. It is addressed to the Mayor of Goldfield, Colorado and concerns a recent inspection of the Cripple Creek Mining District. Enclosed with the letter is a typewritten plan to improve the health conditions of the District. Number 7 recommendation is interesting in that it regards "houses of prostitution." All 3 pages are in EXCELLENT condition showing folds and minor wear/tear. $160.00

One page typewritten letter with detailed litho heading of "The Denver Wire & Iron Works Company" - dated August 3, 1900. One color letterhead shows the plant and lists the officers - it is addressed to the City of Goldfield and offers to build the city jail for $1412.00. Ink signature of Frank White. EXCELLENT condition with folds/creases and normal wear/tear. $95.00
