Recipes from the MUDDY PAW kitchen
 

  ROVER'S REWARDS               
4 cups hot meat juices
1/3 cup margarine
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar
1 egg, beaten
3 cups whole wheat flour

In a large bowl, pour meat juices over margarine. Stir in powdered milk, salt, sugar and egg. Add flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Knead mixture 3 to 4 minutes, adding flour if necessary to make a very stiff dough. Pat or roll to half-inch thickness, and cut out biscuits with a dog biscuit-shaped or any other cutter. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 50 minutes. Allow to cool and dry until hard.

  DOG-GONE GOOD COOKIES

1 jar (3 1/2 ounces) baby food (liver or beef)
1/3 cup wheat germ
2/3 cup powdered skim milk

Mix ingredients and drop by the tablespoon onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes. (Let cool before giving to your dog.)

  CANINE CARROT CAKE

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon soy flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup chopped, unsalted peanuts
1 egg
1/4 cup oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup honey
1 cup ground or grated carrots

Combine flours, baking soda and peanuts. Mix in egg, oil, vanilla, honey and carrots until
well-combined. Pour mixture into a cake pan and bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
