Traditionally, one may picture a dancer as a petite female in tights, gently maneuvering through intricate footwork accompanied by brilliant classical music.
While this is quite an accurate description, Mara Noftall of The Dance Centre "Dancing is all of that and so much more!"
Along with her parteners Janine Burke and Kathryn Sellars, Noftall said "The Dance Centre has strived to create a curriculum with something for everyone"
"We feel that good technique nurtured by good teaching will develop talented dancers regardless of age, level or body type."
"We have worked hard to create a program which instills our students a love of dance which will last a lifetime."
Since Janine Burke and Mara Noftall began their teaching careers in the late 70's the interest of dance in Newfoundland has skyrocketed. They feel that it is up to them as teachers to keep up with the demands of the increasingly versatile student body.
Both Mara and Janine are pleased that their indidvidual methods along with those of other faculty members give their students such a diverse dancing experience.
