Civilian Gas Masks
Do not confuse preparedness with paranoia.
A paranoid person sees imagined threats and is afraid.
A prepared person sees real threats and is ready.

WARNING!
Many of the army surplus gas
masks sold online and in army surplus stores are faulty and ineffective. These
masks offer little or no protection in an NBC (Nuclear/Biological/Chemical) environment.
CLICK HERE to read about which gas masks should be
avoided. If you want to save money by purchasing an army surplus gas mask, the Israeli M15 military gas mask is a good choice. The Israeli civilian gas mask offers a comparable level of protection to the M15 military mask but without the added features of a voicemitter and a drinking tube.
Most of the filters included with
surplus gas masks are expired and/or defective. The filters included with most
Israeli gas masks, such as the M15 military gas mask and the Israeli civilian
gas mask, are expired. Don’t
be fooled by uninformed or dishonest sellers advertising their filters as
“new” and “unissued.” Most of these filters are expired by as
much as ten to twenty years. These
expired filters are often, but not always, sealed with a blue or yellow thread. The filters
with the blue thread were designed for protection against tear gas only. The filters with the yellow thread were
designed for protection against NBC agents. Both filters have long since
expired. CLICK HERE
to purchase current NBC rated 40mm (NATO) filters.
