In 1946 John Trump (Donald Trump's uncle), Robert J. Van de Graaff, and Denis M. Robinson founded the High Voltage Engineering Corporation (HVEC) to produce Van de Graaff Generators. John Trump passed away in Boston on February 21, 1985, two months before ph played a solo concert at the Paradise Theatre in Boston ($4 General Admission).
