OUR SIMPLE GRADING GUIDE


VINYL ALBUMS AND 45's

M = Mint - The record appears new, looking as though it may not have been played or is still unopened. If it was played, it has been well cared for and the record shows no wear.

NM or M- = Near Mint - The record is nearly perfect. It should show no obvious signs of wear and it should includd inserts, posters, lyric sheets etc.

EX = Excellent - The record seems to have been played, it is in great condition and plays well.

VG = Very Good - This record has seen some play. It may have some scratches or writing on the label, but it still plays well.

G = Good - This record will play all the way through without skipping. Still it has been through a lot, namely years of vigorous play. There may be scratches and markings on the label.

P or F =Poor or Fair - The record may be cracked or warped so that it will not play through without skipping or repeating.

Other common abbreviations: RW - Ring Wear (circular impression on the record jacket caused by the record inside) EW - Edge Wear (wear on the edges of the jacket) CC - Cut Corner of jacket GF - GateFold cover OC - On Cover OBC - On Back Cover


PICTURE SLEEVES AND/OR ALBUMN COVERS

M = Mint - A sleeve/cover in this condition appears as though it was just picked off a shelf at a retail store. It shows no marks or damage.

EX = Excellent - This sleeve looks great. It may have some minor wear, but no real damage of any kind.

VG = Very Good - The sleeve or cover may have some minor damage such as wear, some writing and/or minor tears.

G = Good - The sleeve looks pretty good, but may have some show considerable wear, writing and/or tears scribbles, fading of colors and tears.


P or F = Poor or Fair - The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing. The LP jacket barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fully seam split, crinkled, and written upon.

All cut outs/ring wear/stains/writing on sleeve will be noted alongside sleeve grading:
Ring wear: mark made on cover by the record inside

CO: cut out
COC: cut out corner
COH: cut out hole
LS or SS: little/small split (on the spine of the cover)
POC: punched out center
PSOC: promo stamp on cover
PSOL: promo stamp on label
SOC: stamp or sticker on cover
SOL: stamp or sticker on label
STOC: sticker on cover
STOL: sticker on label
TOC: tape on cover
TOL: tape on label
TROFC: tear on front cover
TROBC: tear on back cover
TROL: tear on label
WD: water damage (stain)
WOC: writing on cover
WOL: writing on label
