News Updates
15 April 2003
Thank you for you continued browsing of my site. I seem to be really crap at updating this site, mainly because this years been pretty uneventful. The only thing that I really worked on and enjoyed was my old
High Schools production of Peter Pan. My friend Bryan Rice called me mid-January and asked if I would help him on the musical, mostly set design and construction. I figured, what the heck, I've got nothing to lose, and I get to work with
Bryan again, so I agreed. I spent many a long evening at the school, building platforms, walls, caves, and whatever else you could think of. The fellowship with Bryan was a great thing to have as well, as I frequently
found myself extremely frustrated with random obsticles life throws, and Bryan is the kind of guy that always has uplifting things to say. The closer we got to the deadline, the more we thought we wouldn't finish.
Eventually, everything needed to be done so that the cast could practice with the sets for a few weeks before the show. At this point, they were short on people who could commit every day to being there for practice, and so I signed up as
a flyer. A flyer, if you are wondering, is a person who runs the pulley systems for the arial aspects of Peter Pan, ie Peter, Wendy, John, and Michael's floating around stage. I ended up being the traveller, the only flyer who moves the others left or right, which seemed to be a huge pain
in the butt at first. On top of that, changing scenes, and setting wires, we had to do constant repairs for the sets. A few of the parents signed on as other flyers, and I met a great bunch of guys. I met a lot of cool kids at the musical, and found out that I am way better at hackey sack now than I ever was in school (watch out Dave). Blah blah blah blah, sorry, that's really the only exciting thing going on with me.
Look around the site, and I'll see what I can think up for next time. I promise it won't be a long boring story about Peter Pan [whom I never dropped- thank you!].
Sincerely,
Jerrrrr

Here we are again for another bit of updating. As for now, this will serve as my information page, sorta journal style. I think I will eventually [php] everything, make an archive page, so that this whole stinking thing doesn't load every time, and those that want to read back to whenever can just click. Ah, technology. So, what have I been doing? I just returned from a well-deserved trip to Connecticut for a week to visit two of my closest friends Dave and Charlene. We painted their bedroom, watched a film, and downloaded music. Dave and I also started recording in his unrefined home studio. We didn't really have any intention of recording new material, but after 20 minutes of just tinkering, we put together the makings of a song he started writing called "Wake Up". We took a break from that session, and I played Dave a progression I was working on, and much to my surprise, by the end of my trip, we had a pretty good amount of stuff done on a song that I wrote pretty much in its entirety. Dave will eventually put a solo in it, as well as re-record the vocals, but I will soon post a rough mixdown of it. The working title is "For Sake, For Fear". Keep in mind that its still a rough copy and that it will be better as soon as we get back together. More news: Another of my closest friends, Jeff Jacobs, is called to active duty. I am not really sure of the details, but he said he could be gone for up to 2 years. He is a part of the Marine Corps Reserve Tank Batallion out of Syracuse, NY. If you pray, remember him in your prayers. So, that's about all I have to say for today. I will keep everyone posted as to what's going on, and if anyone wants me to write specifics here, let me know. Email or sign the guestbook.
Later,
Jerrrrr

welcome, welcome, welcome. I don't do this bit of web space justice, do I? I know I should have updated a million times already, and those of you who talk to me know that I have a good amount of time to do so recently. Here we go on the first of [hopefully] weekly updates. I am currently in Upstate New York, trying to spark my creative juices once again. I've had many an idea lately for starting my own record label or whathaveyou, just researching a name, because I don't want to pilfer one from someone else. Started working on my photograph portfolio again, and that's about it. I think that I will start setting more time out for exercise, as I am feeling a bit sluggish since being home from camp. I need to get my energy levels up, and start getting ready to surf. My super-good mate Nathan and I are thinking about working in Australia for 4 months next year, and maybe doing the whole summer camp thing in Malibu. Nate surfs, and I am a surf-follower, but alas cannot surf without ocean. nate's gonna teach me, he's a great instructor. Hopefully in the next few upcoming weeks I will sort out a proper BIO page for myself, as well as some upcoming cool things to keep all of you informed on. This site should be pretty darn awesome once I get done, and I may even try to "Flash" it up. I'll write more on camp and stuff, and get some summer 2002 camp photographs up in the near future as well. By the way, you should all try to watch a show called "Father Ted", if you are looking for something superbly funny to watch. It's on BBCAmerica, and you can find showing times/availability if you go to BBCAmerica.com. If you want to get ahold of me in a hurry, write to me at: garofair@netzero.net If you just want to chat, I have Y! messenger, MSNmessenger, and AIM. Y! and MSN screennames are just garofair@yahoo.com and garofair@hotmail.com, respectively. My AIM screenname is: AngryDruid.
Oh yeah, a rule of thumb. If I am just kidding, I would have told you by now.
