Careful! He is not only a crook, he is also a liar! He will make
it appear as if he is willing to resolve problems with the shards he
delivers, but he never follows up on this. He also says he has
insurance, but is it true? Or is he taking the buyers money and
the insurance payout all for the shards?
We purchased in separate bids two antique porcelain plates, apparently a pair or set.
The two were shipped in the same parcel. We received SHARDS!
The seller, zncfa86, was contacted immediately via email.
He stated he had insurance, and that the parcel should be returned
so that he could obtain compensation, and that he would resolve the
matter amicably. The packaging is so badly negligent for procelain that even the post office refuses to take reponsibility.
See yourself the sort of the gross negligence involved in the packaging of porcelain plates.
As we cannot know if the post or the seller is responsible, we followed
regular procedure. After opening the outer box and ascertaining
the content was damaged, we contacted the post office on the following
working day. The parcel was taken back.
Normally, damaged
parcels are returned and, if the damage occurred in transit the post
office will compensate the sender who, in this case, should compensate
the buyer, who paid for merchandise and postage.
The French
Post, however, also insisted that negligent packaging was the cause of
the damage, and they refuse payment of compensation.
What do you think the seller is doing about this? He refuses to
answer each and any emails. So, if you buy from this seller and he is
negligent, you will have paid for shards, and he walks away from his
responsibility. This is unheard of in international trading! There is really a lot of cheating done on the Internent nowadays...
Although cost is only some 120 Euro, including postage, we are
evaluating the possibility
of filing criminal charges of fraud. After all, he does not only
have intention to take responsibility for his action (or rather for his
inappropriate packaging), he avoids contact like a crook! Who knows
whether the
plates were not already cracked at the time he sent them?
More details including emails sent by seller will be uploaded.
The modus operandi of the seller is
(1) if possible have buyer pay by non returnable payment method
(2) may ask for more postage
(3) ships very slow
(4) waits with solving problems until Ebay's 60 days period is over, then you cannot give him negative feedback
(5) does not answer any emails
(5) will put buyer who received broken items on blacklist to avoid contact
