Dawson Racing was originally started in the early 1970's in Sheridan, WY by Don Dawson Sr. Dawson Racing competed at various tracks in Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas and Texas. Steve Kuzara joined forces with Dawson Racing in 1975 as an engine builder and sponsor. In 1977, Steve, bought his oun Sprint Car and hired Don Dawson Sr. to drive for him. They raced at the same locations into the 80's. Dawson Racing was turned over to Don Dawson II in 1991 and he continues to oun and operate the business under the name D & D MotorSports.
