Director, Technical Services
- Lead a team of employees and vendors (100 people) for a major Competitive
Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) in the telecommunications industry
implementing nation-wide Computer Telephony Integration (CTI).
- Developed a systematic approach to integrating CTI into class 5 switches
(DMS500) as well as large PBXes (Meridian 81C & 61C).
- Co-ordinated the translations team for switch software and programming,
ACD updates and mods, and corporate database access. Extensive involvement
with these groups across the country was required.
- Integrated newly acquired companies into the project while physical
locations of the call centers changed.
- Was responsible for expenditure approvals, tracking budgets, training, and
personnel evaluations.
- Coached, mentored, and informed senior executives (business and IS) on the
deployment, usage, and capabilities of the newly acquired technology.
- Provided synergistic leadership of four strategic systems within the
corporation (Clarify, Group Bull, ViewSpan, CTI with Clarify). By focusing
the individual teams , was able to coordinate their efforts which provided a
more efficient reporting, monitoring and tracking system.
- Automated interaction of these systems is estimated to have provided a
cost savings of $10 million a year, increased workload (2x) without
additional staff, and improved response times to alarms.
- These projects and products required close interaction with internal
departments and external service providers.

insights into how Information Services could provide value and savings, and
accomplish the work as defined.

- Direct and analyze the conversion of a global telecommunications trouble
tracking legacy system developed on a PDP10 using a database called 1022
onto an Oracle client/server based application developed by Clarify and
significantly modified to fit Concert's, a joint venture between MCI and
British Telecom (BT), business activities.

Senior Project Manager
- Southeast Region
- Manage,
supervise and support three projects (Bell South Technology, Harrah's Casino,
and Xavier University) with broad range of knowledge of GUI tools (VB,
PowerBuilder), client/server architecture, and Business Process Reengineering
(BPR) skills. Problem identification and resolution expertise ensures the
ability to react to a changing environment enabling the least amount of impact
to the project and its budget. Project management of existing contracts with
software tools such as Microsoft Project guarantees that timelines,
milestones, and contract deliverables are developed and completed. Using Rapid
Application Development (RAD) and Joint Application Development (JAD)
techniques allowed for faster development time and quicker acceptance by the
end users. Directly responsible for the employment of personnel and
profitability of each project. All projects consisted of 12 people and budgets
of $3 million

Performed in the capacity of a CIO
for the strategic relocation and consolidation of all existing and future
computer and telecommunications equipment. Consult, advise, and direct the
modernization of information systems for a multi-state architectural metals
fabrication and design corporation. Coordinated with the President and CFO for
scope and budgetary constraints. Responsible for the design of a LAN for the
new corporate facility in Port St. Lucie, FL and the light manufacturing
plant. Tying both together with a T-1 which is used for voice, data, and
eventually video conferencing. The entire modernization included the eventual
conversion of legacy systems into the designed enterprise wide client/server
environment being implemented by Prime. Each manufacturing sight would have
its own server(s) while allowing the corporate database to be updated
periodically. Video conferencing to the shop floor was being designed so that
R&D/Production engineers at the corporate facility could resolve problems
from corporate without having to travel to resolve the problem. Pro Forma
budgeting is in excess of $10 million and 25 people.
- RCCPDS Naval Contract
- Supervise 6 programmers and analysts in
the development of a Reserve Common Component Personnel Data System (RCCPDS)
interface. This project is the beginning of the standardization of data
elements in the DoD so that exchange of information between the services is
easier. Adherence to Mil. Std. 2168 and 2167A were required and enforced. New
Projects required Life Cycle Management (LCM) documentation to include a Test
and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP). Ensured the RCCPDS project was completed on
time and under the budget of $1 million.
- Senior Communications Engineer
- Freeport-McMoRan
(Main Pass Project) -
Support the installation, operation, and application development for an
Ethernet network running Novell 3.11 with a redundant fiber-optic backbone.
Attached are two VAX 4000s used for a process control center of the offshore
sulfur rig. Special application development effort involved data collection
from the wells and the development of reports using UDMS and extracting
information from the "Data Historian" application. All
communications to land-based offices were sent through a Cisco router to a
microwave with satellite transmissions as an alternate.

- COMNAVRESFOR Naval Contract
- Supervising application
development and system audits on a VAX 8000 cluster using SmartStar, VAX
Basic, RSQL, and a Britton & Lee(Sharebase) database for the Commander
Naval Reserve Force (COMNAVRESFOR) that track and disperse personnel
information concerning training, promotions, pay, and historical records to
over 300 field sites as well as other Department of Defense (DOD) systems.
Supervision of four programmer/analysts requires broad knowledge of the
systems and interfaces involved. Additional duties included being part of a
conversion team analyzing which database and client/server tools to migrate
to (Sysbase, Oracle, Informix, Gupta, PowerBuilder), creation of a Test and
Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) for the Naval Aviation Logistics Officer (NALO)
in the development of the Joint Air Logistics Information System (JALIS, a
purple system), and evaluation/recommendation of group productivity packages
(WordPerct Office, Microsoft Mail, cc:mail,etc.) for the entire Naval
Reserve.
