Program development in C and C++, UNIX Shell Scripting (C, Bourne and Korn), Developed interactive help, training and search pages for company intranet to facilitate ISO 9000 compliance. Assigned to multiple issues with program wide impact. Responsible for resolution of many major Oracle database issues. Developed plans and documentation to facilitate data development for all major subsystems of current project. Received highest ratings on current performance appraisal. GE/Covia, Systems Engineer   December 1989 – February 1997
Position held to facilitate degree completion. Provide on site and telephone technical assistance on product line ranging from wide area network issues to LANs, PCs and peripheral equipment, software including Microsoft Windows, TCP/IP, IBM Token Ring OS, Lantastic, and proprietary software applications. Developed and delivered technical training on software products, data communications and various hardware devices at the national and international levels. Various positions ranging from field engineer to branch manager to systems engineer. As field engineering branch manager improved branch profitability by eleven percent in first year and improved customer satisfaction indicators by eighty percent. Directed the activities of seventeen field engineers and technical specialists. As a systems engineer, responsibilities included presale and postsale support of customers and sales force including application analysis, network system design, system installation and integration of applications. Knowledge of C and Pascal programming languages, Berkeley and AT&T UNIX, MS DOS, UNIX shell scripting (C and Bourne), TCP/IP, Ethernet, token ring, Novell, Windows, and 3270 data communications. Developed project management plans for installation, configuration, customization and acceptance of new systems. Additional knowledge required on a wide variety of hardware platforms including Motorola based minicomputers, IBM & compatible PCs and Apple Macintosh.
