REIKI FOR PROMOTING HEALING

Reiki is a Japanes technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands". The hands can be placed on the body or a few inches from it. The technique is based on the idea that an unseen "life energy" flow through us and is what causes us to be alive. Life energy "flows wiithin the physical body through pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy call the aura. The free and balanced flow of "life energy" is the cause of health. It is "life energy" that animates the physical organs and tissues as it flows through them, nourishing them and supporting their vial function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body. Therefore, it is the disruption in the flow of "life energy" that is the main cause of illness. When one's "life energy" is low it is more difficult to relas and to heal and we are more likely to get sick. When it is high, we feel more confident and capable, are happier and less likely to become ill. Reiki is a techniquue that restores the flow of "life energy" and also increases one supply.

Reiki was rediscovered by a Japanese buinessman over 80 years ago. It was brought to the West in 1938. It has become very popular in the last few years and there are now over 1,ooo,ooo practitioners. Doctors and nurses are discovering it value as well and it is now being used in some hospitals.

Reiki is very simple technique to learn. It is not taught in the way that other healing techniques are taught. The ability to use Reiki is simply transferred to the student by the Reiki Master during an "attunement" process. This allows the student to immediately tap into an unlimited supply of "life energy". The attunement process is guided by the "Higher Power," and opens the crown, heart, and palm chakras in a special way that creates a link between the student and the Reiki source. Because of this virtually anyone can learn Reiki with no prior experience. The student is then given instruction and practice time in administering Reiki to other and to oneself. After that, all that is necessary is for the practitioner to place her or his hand on the client with a healing intent and the Reiki energies automatically flow through the practitioner into the client. Reiki can be easily taught online, or during a weekend class and can be use by anyone, anywhere at any time.
