Wagoner & Associates, Inc. is an Active-Participation, Shareholder Corporation. What this means for our clients is that we do not have "employees" in the tradtional sense, instead all of our staff are Owner/Shareholders of the firm. We all have a stake in the success of our company and in maintaining our reputation. We are all motivated to keep costs low and quality high.
Wagoner & Associates, Inc. is very "Family Based". Many of our consultants are husband and wife teams, some with disabilties and others without. Many of our staff have worked together over the years in other jobs in the public safety field such as Police Officers and Fire Fighters where the job demands trust in your partner and builds a strong family type bond as well. As we are largely made up of people with disabilities and their families, the ADA is very personal to us.
We want to see the ADA work, but not at the cost of honesty or our integrity. We have in the past, been asked to "stretch" what the law says, to make businesses believe that they were required to do more than the law says. WE WILL NOT PUT OUR REPUTATION AND INTEGRITY AT RISK ! We believe that the ADA is a good law as it is and if changes need to be made to it then we believe in working for change, NOT being dishonest.
We are Federally trained ADA Compliance Consultants who offer ADA compliance assistance from a unique perspective. We are one of the few ADA Compliance Firms in the country that use primarily people with disabilities. We have specific, in-depth training on the ADA, its enforcement implementation and dispute resolution.
This training was provided through The National ADA Training and
Implementation Network, a joint training project of the
US Department of Justice and the Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission.
We are proud to have on staff one of only 150 people; nationwide, selected to receive this specialized, two phase training, including training as a Mediator for ADA matters through Key Bridge Foundation of Arlington, Virginia. He has also provided testimony before the United States Senate on the ADA and other disability related legislation.
His Textbook
"The Americans with Disabilities Act,
Employment Discrimination Issues for the 90's "
is published through the National Business Institute.
