Michael Dowd Douglas was the lead voice on Kay Kyser's hits, "Ol' Buttermilk Sky", "The Old Lamplighter", "Coffee Time", and others. Douglas replaced Harry Babbitt when Harry went into the Navy, and again when the "Kollege" went to TV.

Veteran television personality Mike Douglas, whose daytime talk show ran for two decades until 1982, died on Friday, 11 AUG 2006, his 81st birthday, at a hospital in North Palm Beach, Florida.
Douglas, who began his career as a singer and performed with bandleader Kay Kyser's Kollege of Musical Knowledge, also was the singing voice of Prince Charming in the animated Disney film "Cinderella."

Born Aug. 11, 1925, Douglas worked as a staff singer at an Oklahoma City radio station before serving in the U.S. Navy in World War II, AP said. Douglas's politeness on air in the 1960s and 1970s stood out from the anger prevalent in America at the time.
