As on a multitude of other sites on the World Wide WAIT,
these Q&A are placed here simply because they have been asked
many times by our friends/others who have Emailed/Faxed us,
(some nice,some not-so-nice...that's OK too..)
It just saves time to use a few kb's here for answers.
Some of the questions were condensed,
in some cases paraphrased, but the essentials are here.
Q: What is the real purpose of your site?
A: I think that is very well covered in the site itself,
both in the Publishers Corner, Editorials, and other Articles.
My role, personally, is twofold. The first is to provide a
source/guidance for the information. The second is to inspire
and/or antagonize/annoy the readers enough to get them to respond.
I believe it has been called "Playing Devil's Advocate", even though
I personally don't care for the term.
If we only wrote/published things to make everyone
happy/satisfied, not very much would ever happen around here.
What we have gets some people pretty riled up sometimes, and
I can print most of their comments. I may not always like
what is said, but I would defend your right to say it.
AND We DO believe this stuff SHOULD be FREE.

It's writersweb.org ....works from ANYWHERE...
Simply put, though, I live most of the time on my sailboat/(actually a motorsailer),
cruising the US East Coast(ICW)/Bahamas/Florida Keys/other places.
AND...Recently I purchased a small motorhome for
retirement?/land travel/vacations/etc...
I use wireless hookups, and it would be impractical to keep a server in this environment.
AND HANDLE THE LARGE VOLUME OF TRAFFIC
(Besides, I'm a cheapster :-)
BUT, the address leads/redirects to a hosted server we have
had for many years....
Speaking of boats/ships....

UPDATE: (6/1/07) IT APPEARS that MY financial situation
is about to significantly improve,

Q. Why do you allow all those ads on your pages?
A. Sure, I could pay the host a few bucks, and ZAP!...
no more ads...BUT they DO have a purpose.
First: Some/..a few of them are ACTUALLY good....
Next: They serve as 'training aids' for those who are learning (at PHRED'S FREE ONLINE BIBLE COLLEGE)
to discern TRUE Christianity from the FALSE.

Q: Why do you put all these links on your site?
A: You mean the 'CORNERS'? (That's what we like to call them)
First, it HELPS people who come here
THAT'S THE MAIN REASON WE"RE HERE!!
Of course, there are other reasons, not the least of which is money
(We ALL need that...)
PS: I ALREADY have enough..surprisingly.
AND each time a pageAd is clicked-on, the WebHost makes a little.
I AM ALSO LAZY (you figured THAT out...)
Without links, I'd have to put ALL that info here.
I realize also that I run the risk of losing readers by giving out all these links.
I COULD put in a hidden code to bring them back after a timed interval,
or I could use frames to 'hold you captive' as some sites do...
but I won't play those kind of 'games'.
EVERYONE who has a site runs this same kind of risk.

Q: I see you use a lot of KEYWORDS in your META TAGS....
A: They are there for the benefit/use of the 'spiders'..
Search Engines that 'crawl' the WEB, looking for & recording data.
(some say 'infest', but I wouldn't go THAT far....)
You couldn't find much without them.
We use most of the common words. Even SEX!! (Ooooo....)
As someone said in his promotion tips newsletter,
(...now MIA like a lot of other sites on the web.)

Surveys have shown that 26% of the searchwords are of a sexual nature.
Is this a new trend? I think not. It's ALWAYS been that way...

Q: Why don't you have a lot of GRAPHICS on your site?
A: It loads faster. This is also well-covered in the Zine.
The concessions to this on the site are small.
The web Gif on the Title Page is not large,
and the few banners & other small gifs load fast,
and adds much to the appearance of the page.(First Impressions...)
(Like me, it 'pays for itself':-)
You can grow very old waiting for some sites to appear on the screen,
only to find that it's really not exactly what you are looking for.
(Bad grammar, AND besides, the bathroom is a LONG way down the hall...)
Beautifully-done graphics are a joy to behold.
I know it adds to the profits, but I look for content,
and I'm sure many others feel the same way.
This site is here to provide needed information,
not just to entertain/impress surfers with graphics.
When I want/need something, I expect it...RIGHT NOW!!
We believe in LOW BANDWIDTH...HIGH CONTENT!!!!
There are TWO things that MIGHT help:
1) Some of the Website Designers should delete their cache and see
then just how long it really takes to load these pages/sites.
2) The 'INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY' has a LOT of 'potholes'in it

Q: Many of my Christian friends have asked: Why do you bother with
the Internet-WWW? They see all kinds of recurring news reports full of
stories about the blatant moral problems, and people with twisted minds.
A: I have already mentioned some of this in the answer to 'keywords'
(above). I feel that the Internet is a unique opportunity to do what God
has told ALL Christians to do. If I have to go to Dodge City, Sodom and
Gomorra, or into the belly of a whale(read Jonah) to do this, so be it.
