09/09/06 VS Chicago Meeting Notes
A NEW FUTURE FOR VS CHICAGO!
GOODBYE AND THANKS, MIKE - HELLO TEAM VS
There were several regulars and old timers present.
Mike explained his reasons for moving on and the various projects he and Linda were engaged in.
He explained what was involved in the running of the VSC group. A discussion followed on whether the group should continue or die a natural death. It was generally felt that keeping the group going was a positive thing but no one person was willing or able to offer to take over Mike's role.
Several people offered to help in some way so it was decided to run the group as a team effort. Dave will take care of advertising and coordination with the Crossroads center. Jill will be the point of contact for enquiries and Colin will take on the VSC website, Yahoo group and email announcements. Other people offered to facilitate meetings as needed.
There was some discussion as to how the group could be improved in terms of meeting space, outreach to new people and other ideas. These will be explored in Open Space as we return to our regular format in future meetings.
