Closed AfterTen Great Years!

It is true that after ten years Soundwaves is closed. If you didn't get the E-mail I'm, sorry but the following is that E-mail and some of the response's so far.

Again Thanks Everyone!

Long Long Time A Go...........
I can still remember how that
Music usta to make me smile.
I knew if I had my chance,
That I could make those people..!
For 10 good years I did too.

This is the one of hardest E-mails I will ever have to write. But then nothing last forever but the Earth and Sky. The first month Soundwaves was open I didn't know how I was even going to make it to the next month. Now 10 years later it's time to close our doors.
It is N O T because of anything you'll probably hear it was, the reason is mainly personal and due to the fact I'm too old to try anymore. Nothing else I just have to move on and try to due something else with this life God has given me. So far I have wasted it on monetary values and other worthless things. Don't know what I'm going to do but as soon as I do I'll let everyone who cares know.
I wish to thank you all for the help, inspiration, and most of all your Money in your support through out the last 10 years, it has been overwhelming.
Thank you very much for Everything.

There are times through out your Life that you must do thing that you really don't want to do, but you must do them in order to get out of Life what you want. As much as it grieves me to do this I must close Soundwaves on Friday September 8th, 2000. After 3,691 days.
Soundwaves is closed. God that hurt to type. We will most likely have a close out sale next weekend and I'll let you know.
Live and Love as long as you can,
& May all your days be sunny and bright.
Just Live.
Thanks Again Everyone,
Special

Always wanted to hack somthing....I love you daddy....J~! 09/12/00

Holy SHIT, what a bummer.... Sorry to hear the news, dude, I know how much work you put into it and how much it meant to you. When can I call you, nobody answers the work number and the home phone's disconnected!
Christamighty.... Fuck it, move on down here. Jobs are everywhere,
we can hook you up with a headhunter service and they'll find you whatever you want. I'm serious, think about it!
We can put you up here for awhile. At last you can see the glorious castle we live in (complete with crumbling foundation, cracked walls and ceilings, and the falling-down fence in the back yard!!)
Maybe you were just meant to leave Ottumwa, man.
Doors open, come on down.

I am really sorry to hear about Soundwaves. I know it's been part of your life for a long time. However, you're right in believing that everything has a purpose, even if it doesn't feel like it right now. You will find your way and be a better person because of it. If there is anything I can do that would help you today or in the future, please know that I'm here for you and always will be.

Good Luck ! ! !
Love you brother,

Ed- Got your email a little late. Let me know how you're doing and what you're up to. I was going to stop by yesterday but didn't want to barge in uninvited. I'm sure things will work out for you - it just takes time. I know first hand how difficult a change like this can be. I'm sure you feel relieved not to have to put in those hours and be tied down by doing everything at the store yourself. At least now you can get out more often. Speaking of which, the rear wheel of that 10 speed wobbles like an egg. Do you want it back even in that condition? Let me know if so. I've got a good book I'm going to lend you called "Do What You Are" - ties careers to the Meyers-Briggs Temperment Indicator. Kind of interesting to skim through it. I've lent it to a teacher at the school here - she said she'd get it back in the next day or so. What is the reason for closing that you suggested people might have heard but isn't the case, anyway? Stop down if you feel like it. I'm usually home by 5.
Good luck and take care
Todd
PS I hear Ottumwa %$#@!@ Department might be hiring soon. Just a suggestion. Tell them you know me.

From Clint Forgey
Holy shit! I just now read this, I haven't read my email for a while.
So what're you going to do now? Any plans?

P.S. Welcome to the Mid-Life Crisis. Ain't it fun?

Hey man. Needless to say I was quite bothered by your email. I was going to cruise by and see you, but I don't want to intrude. I think it goes without saying how I feel about Soundwaves. Ahhhh.... the days of the green bucket. (Actually, I don't miss that part) I can understand if you need some space for a while. But just know that you DO have friends that are thinking of you. So just drop me a line, and we'll have a beer sometime.
Soundwaves, thanks for the years of support and friendship. I for one will miss you.

Howdy Ed, Just read the news today, old boy. It seems like Soundwaves has been open forever, and I only discovered it in '95 when I was sluffing off at Indian Hills and working at that damn Conaco station. Yeah, I sold you milk a few times but you've probably sold me more CD's. And always at a good, fair price. Thanks for giving an ex-Hills student someplace REAL to hang out/relax/absorb/learn. Thanks for giving all earnest bands a fair shot. The free shows at Soundwaves were something that this town needed for a long time, and you gave it to them. I have a feeling that the people that came to those shows won't let O-town fall silent for long. They're a good lot. You've got a lot of fans, Special...
Hasta LA Poo,
Ryan H.
