    Outlines in Church History
    G Slings
    2nd edition

How the Lord has gathered His Church, from Adam to the time of the apostles, is revealed in Scripture. But Christ's Church- gathering work did not stop with the work of the apostles. Our Lord has continued His Church-gathering work and will continue it into the future until the full number of His elect has been reached.
This book contains a series of Church history outlines translated from dutch. Its aim is to show the youth of the Church today how Christ has continued to gather, defend and preserve His Church throughout the past twenty centuries. Readers will also see how satan has continually sought to frustrate that work and destroy Christ's Church through cruel persecutions and cunning deceit.
Much has happened to Christ's Church throughout these centuries. Therefore, to cover that period in one book, it was necessary for the author to be brief. Nevertheless, it is a faithful account of Church history and should provide readers with a general overview and thereby a sound basis for further study.
Mr. G. Slings, the author of this book, has written for 'In Rechte Sporen' since 1965 and written its Church history outlines since 1978. He taught Dutch at the Gereformeerde Schoolen Gemeenschap (Reformed Secondary School) in Rotterdam. He is also the author of an excellent book about modern literature titled 'Een Boos en Overspelig Geslacht' (A Wicked and Perverse Generation).
