Acquire your International Driving Permit and World Passport here!

Designed and implemented by the United Nations, in the "Convention On Road Traffic" on September 19th, 1949. International Driving Permit facilitates the worldwide travel of motorists in countries where language barriers create difficulties for both travelers and police. Books and magazine articles about travel around the World often suggest that you "make sure you have an International Driving Permit," but they rarely explain what it is, and how one goes about getting one. Our objective is to make it as easy as possible for you to obtain your International Driving Permit.

It is International Contract Law, and Treaties between countries that authorize the issuance of International Driving Permit (IDP). 'IDP' consists of a booklet the size of a passport containing your photograph, signature, and other identifying information. Consistent with the Convention On Road Traffic the International Driving Permit is NOT valid in the country of issue.

The World Passport Copyright 1998 World Service Authority

The major purpose of the World Passport is the legitimization of basic human rights and freedoms in the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS (UDHR), proclaimed by the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 10th, 1948. The World Passport Document, deriving from articles in the UDHR, have practical as well as symbolic value. Besides being a statement that the bearer recognizes the planetary community as a dynamic fact, it is also a concrete tool for the exercise of our fundamental human rights. The World Passport document is a valued addition to whatever identity documents one presently holds. The World Passport is printed in seven (7) languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, Esperanto, French, Russian and Spanish.

The World Passport is officially recognized by six (6) countries: Burkina Faso, Ecuador, Mauritania, Tanzania,Togo and Zambia. As of May 1998, 162 countries have accepted the World Passport on a case-by-case basis by issuing visa or entry stamps in the Passport.

All World Passport holders should obtain visas or entry permits from consulates or embassies before travelling to the desired country. We suggest that the holder should first obtain a visa from the countries that officially recognize it.

The World Passport holder is solely responsible for the use of the Passport. Each World Passport holder is given a copy of the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" of which Article 13(1) and (2) sanctions freedom of travel. Since all member-states of the United Nations are obliged to "promote universal respect for and observance of human rights and fundamentaL freedoms" in accordance with Articles 55 and 56 of the UN Charter, the member-states should accept the World Passport in principle and practice.

For a book containing photocopies of visas, entry/exit stamps from the 162 countries which have accepted the World Passport as well as government letters giving de jure recognition to the World Passport, please e-mail your request with the following information: Name, Address, City, State and Zip or Postal Code, and Country.
