Some of the 75 Ohm semi-rigid co-axial cable available is being manufactured to Metric dimensions. While it may appear to be 1/2" coax, it is really 13mm (0.512"). This metric Cable somtimes has a solid LDPE dieletric with large air cells instead of the LDPE foam used in the 1/2" cable.

When ordering connectors or linear matching transformers, please specify which cable you have and add the appropriate suffix to the part number.

To measure the cable, stip about 1" (2.5 cm) of the jacket (if any) and measure the Outside Diameter of the exposed aluminum shield with a micrometer or a vernier (or dial) caliper.

If you don't have access to a micrometer or caliper, you can use the "wrench" method. The 1/2" cable will jsut fit into a 1/2" open end wrench. The 13mm cable will not fit.
