Make sure that you have turned in your money for your tables that should be $150 and the paper that describes your table and needs! If you have any questions, make sure that you attend the meeting on Wednesday, January 14th. They will explain all the things you need at your table and the times to decorate. If you can not make it to the meeting, call one of the Co-Chairpersons or try to get a parent or guardian to attend it.
36 students have already signed up to decorate and serve their own tables. Last year there were 55, so this is a great start. Once you know your theme, please let Mrs. Higgins know.
12 students have signed up to be in the talent show. We need more!
2 students have signed up to serve a corporate table. We’ll probably need about 12.
6 people have signed up to bring something for the silent auction. We’d like to end up with about 50 baskets.
8 people have signed up to wash dishes. This is probably enough.
3 people have signed up to work in the food line. We’ll need a few more.
12 people have signed up to be hosts/hostesses. This will be more than enough, so we will probably have some of them work at the table selling “tip money”.
If you are a host or hostess, you need to wear a white shirt and black pants or skirt.
Each server will be given a grater to wear and keep you tips in.
If you decorate a table, you will need to supply:
plates (optional, since dinner will be served on a Styrofoam plate which you will place on top of your plate. Salads will be served on small Styrofoam plates; dessert will be served in Styrofoam bowls.)
water and/or tea glasses
salt and pepper shakers (already filled)
sugar and artificial sweetener for tea
a large tray or rolling cart (really necessary so that you don't have to make a dozen trips!)
pitchers to serve water and tea
ice bucket to use when you need fresh ice
*= you will take home the dirty items
9:00 a.m. Civic Center will be open to begin decorating
9:00 a.m. Entertainers will practice at Civic Center
5:45 p.m. Arrive at Civic Center ready to receive instructions and welcome guests.
9:30 p.m. The event will last AT LEAST until 9:30. DO NOT leave or undercoated your table until it is OVER. EVERYONE will stay to help clean up. All personal items will be removed and trash and decorations will be cleared immediately after dinner.
You will revive a garter when you arrive Saturday evening.
Guests will purchase "tip money" when they arrive.
As you serve your guests, they will tip you.
As your garter gets full and you have time, turn in your tips to the "tip money" table.
When Senior Serve is over, take the rest of your "tip money" bake to the "tip money" table.
You will be awarded one point for every $5 worth of tips that you turn in. You MUST turn in your money that night to receive credit.
When the caterer arrives, you will begin putting ice in the glasses at your table and filling your water and tea pitchers.
Next, place the salad on your table before and as your guests arrive.
If you are not already partnered with another senior near you, please do so.
The servers whose table are farthest from the serving line will go through the serving line first.
After the invocation, you will go to the serving line with your partner and the two of you will take the main course food to one complete table. Then the two of you will go back through the serving line and get food for the second table.
If you do not have a partner, or have more people to serve than two people can serve at one time, please ask a host or hostess to assist you.
There will be tea and water set up for refills.
Serve dessert for your table after all your guests have received their main courses.
Use of nails, tacks, staples or scotch tape with decorating walls in the Civic Center is strictly prohibited.
No tape such as duct, electrical, or other is allowed on the floors of the Civic Center.
Special clips ONLY should be used to hang items form the ceiling.
Be responsible for any candles or votives that you use.
Decorations should be on the table or free-standing.
Ask a host, hostess, or other server to wait on your table while you are entertaining.
Leave your table in plenty of time to get ready for your performance.
Voluntary practice will be held on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.
We made a total of $14,052.27.
