Joe P. Collins Memorial Car & Truck Show
Benefiting Hospice in the Pines
On May 3rd, 2008 Hospice in the Pines of Lufkin held its very first benefit car & truck show.
It was held at the Wal-Mart parking lot on
US Hwy 59 south in Lufkin, Texas. A total of 57
vehicles were entered into the show. The show was
deemed a success having raised almost $2,500.00 from
this event. Below are just a few pictures of the show.

Above: Mrs. Angelynn Bassinger was presented the Wild Horse Mustang Club Mustang Choice Award for her green 1965 Ford Mustang coupe. Her Mustang was purchased brand new by she and her late husband. The original bill of sale was presented as part of the vehicle display. Mrs. Bassinger said showing her Mustang in a car show was on her bucket list and it mattered not if she won an award. But Mrs. Bassinger won a Class Champion award and the WHMC award. The Wild Horse Mustang Club is based in Beaumont, Texas.

Above: Mr. Walter Overstreet of Zavalla, Texas was
presented with a Class Champion Award for his red
1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.
Mr. Overstreet also won the BEST CORVETTE trophy.

Michelle & Randy Cross of Beaumont, Texas received a 3rd place trophy for her silver 2001 Ford Mustang.

The show was well underway at this point.

Peg Englebrecht of Lufkin, Texas captured 2nd place with her original blue 1985 Chevrolet IROC Z-28.

Todd displayed a beautiful red 1969 Ford Mach 1 Mustang fastback.
