"My God, I really can't believe it! The guy flies us to Germany on a whim!" Neenah couldn't believe her eyes as they stepped into the hotel. "I can't believe he has the limo pick us up as well!" Miranda cracked up at her friend. She always loved her New York accent.
"Just calm down," Miranda giggled. "They're just guys."
"Just guys! The cowgirl calls them just guys!"
"Hey! I may have been born in Indiana but I ain't no cowgirl!"
Neenah turned to Katie. "Aren't ya gonna say anything?"
"She's in too much shock still," Miranda sighed. "Come on, we gotta get to our rooms." They quickly approached the front desk. "We have reservations here." The woman looked at them questionably. "Oh shit!" she exclaimed. "Guys, I don't speak German!"
"Good think I came along," Katie smiled.
After fifteen minutes, they were given their key. "There’s only one key? That means one room. Cheap!" Neenah laughed.
Once they stepped into the room though, it was time for her to blush. "Cheap, eh?" laughed Miranda. "Which part of this multi room suite screams cheap?"
Neenah just lightly smacked the back of her head. "Just unpack, I'm hungry!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "So, your women gonna be here today?" Freddie asked.
"Man, I told you! I only know one of the girls comin' here and she ain't mine! She's more like a sister or somethin'."
"They all start out that way, kid," Tommy laughed.
"I'm gonna learn too damn much from you guys!" Nick sighed.
"Limo pick 'em up?" Freddie questioned.
"Yeah, we got them one of the rooms on our floor."
"Easier access," Freddie whispered behind Nick to Tommy.
"Hey!" Nick screeched. "No reason to make it known," he laughed. "Anyway, I haven't talked to her seriously since forever. Last time I saw her she had braces and glasses...and she was real skinny."
Freddie looked quizzically at him. "She’s definitely the little sister type."
Nick gave him a dumb look. "She was fifteen then. She's eighteen now. Who knows what she looks like." They soon made their way into the hotel. "I just wanna see if they checked in. Tommy, you speak German...ask for me."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "You liar, you know you like Nick," Neenah teased.
"All I've seen of Nick is on paper, a magazine picture or two over the past years. Last time I saw him in the flesh he was a boy!"
"He's a damn fine piece of work now!" she complimented.
"You just keep your eye on your main man, Mister Train."
"I'm so tired of hearing the denial and insanity," Katie sighed.
"Yep, only one way to make her admit it," smiled Neenah.
"What are you guys talking about?" Miranda got a worried look on her face. Before she knew it, the two girls were dragging her by the arms towards the door. "What are you guys doing?" she yelled.
"Making you admit the truth," Neenah stated simply, tossing Miranda in the hallway in nothing but a mid-thigh-length t-shirt and panties.
"Come on you guys! For God Sakes, let me back in!" She was laughing on the outside but cringing on the inside. "Come on! We're in a weird place and the last thing I need to do is flash someone!" Down the hall she heard the elevator bell ring, signaling that someone was arriving on their floor. "Shit," she whispered. She banged more frantically. "Let me in!" she panicked. That's when she heard the footsteps.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "So, you gonna visit her?" Freddie smiled.
"Think I should give them some time to settle in?" Nick asked.
"Nah, she'll wanna see ya," Tommy commented.
"Maybe..." Nick started but soon trailed off as he heard someone banging on a room door. He looked down the hall and saw a young girl standing outside her room in nothing but a t-shirt. It took all he had not to bust out laughing. The closer he got, the more intrigued he became. "Excuse me miss, can we help you?" He barely got out with a few giggles. Miranda turned, causing Nick to breathe in deeply. The more he took in, the more he noticed how familiar and yet unfamiliar she looked.
As soon as she saw Nick standing before her she took in a deep breath. The pictures did nothing to accent the true beauty he was. "Uh...no…I don't need any help," she replied nervously.
"Miranda?" he smiled. He looked at Freddie and Tommy, watching them glance her shapely figure up and down. "Get outta here," he laughed. "Don't you guys have to practice your music?" he hinted. He turned to Miranda. "Here, take this." He took off his coat and gave it to her.
"Thanks," she giggled, wanting to hide her embarrassment. "I was gettin' kinda cold."
Nick turned back to the two men. "Oh, yeah, guess we gotta go," Freddie said to Tommy. "Later Nicky!" he smiled. "Nice meeting you," he called to Miranda.
Nick tried to force himself to look her in the eyes, but found he was unable to ignore the evident curvaceous shape of her body. "Wow, I can't believe it's you," he said quietly. "Come here!"
As soon as Nick pulled her into his embrace, she knew she was gone. It was bad enough she was wearing the coat that smelled like him, now she was being covered by his body. She inhaled deeply before speaking. "It's so great to see you again," she managed, sounding happier than she wanted to. "Damn, grown much?" she giggled.
He reluctantly backed away, not really wanting to break the hug. "Yeah, six foot already, and I'm only sixteen," he grinned. "Although, I can see I'm not the only one who's changed." His grin only got bigger. "I see ya got to lose the braces, and are those green contacts I see?" All she could do was smile. "They look nice on ya, but I liked your brown color too."
Here eyes widened. "You remembered?"
"Well, you are one of my friends." Her heart began to beat faster. "I'm glad..." He was about to speak more, but was interrupted by the room door being flung open.
Neenah and Katie stood there, open mouthed and ready to pass out. "Uh, hi," Neenah uttered.
"Hey girls," Nick smiled. "Do me a favor. Next time ya throw this girl out; make sure she's at least warm."
The girls just stood there, wide eyed. "Will do," Katie replied.
"Cool! You guys wanna meet us for lunch downstairs in a bit?"
Miranda suddenly sneezed. "Sure," she sniffled.
He grinned. "Okie doke, See ya at six then!" He had to glance her up and down one more time, not even trying to hide it. "Dress casually."
Miranda sneezed once more as they watched Nick walk into his room. She soon felt a tugging on her arm as Neenah pulled her back into the room. "You're still wearing his jacket!" she exclaimed happily.
Miranda sneezed again and then smiled. "It smells just like him." She rubbed her arms, loving the feeling of his leather coat. Without notice, she sneezed again.
"You comin' down with something? Please don't tell me you're getting sick!"
"No I...I...achoo! I should be okay."
"Well then, get dressed so we can meet our main men."
