Thumper, this night is one that will go down in history! I was a complete nervous wreck all day, but things couldn’t have turned out better!

Let me tell you, before I left I couldn’t find a damn thing to wear. Everything was either too baggy or too tight. What’s a girl to do when she barely knows the guy she has a date with? I did the best with what I had. Not knowing where in the heck we were going, I went with something that was casual but still tasteful. I wore the tan Old Navy pants with a semi-tight dark blue t-shirt. I went straight with the hair, slight curls at the ends. The makeup was subtle. Like the play by play so far?

Let me tell you that I about DIED when I saw him walking out of his Durango. Yes, a Durango. This guy obviously has style! His hair was slicked back. It looked nice, but I could’ve pinched him for it. There was no possible way I was going to be able to run my fingers through it with all that damn gel! He wore a white t-shirt and his jeans, oh man, his jeans were perfect. This guy has a nice butt!

Okay, back to the actual date. There will be more butt talk later on! We were on our way after the initial awkwardness wore off and the introduction to my mother was over (I hate being sixteen so much. At least she didn’t embarrass me.). The conversation was kinda cut down while we were in the vehicle.

“Where did you want to eat?”

When he asked that question I realized he had about as much of a clue about our date as I did! “How about Pizzeria Uno? It’s near Lake Buena Vista.”

“I know where it’s at.” I love his smile! “When I stay at Brian’s, like I did today, we hang out at the local places.”

“Where exactly do you live? It’s not Orlando, is it?”

A deep sigh left his lungs, telling me he didn’t really want to talk. “If we continue this conversation now, there won’t be anything to talk about at dinner.” There was that damn smile again!

“I get it, you hate talking while you drive, huh?”

“Very much so.” His giggle was melodic. It made me wonder more and more what he sounded like when he sang, but I would save that question for later.

Dinner was good. We didn’t talk a whole lot due to the fact that Nick downed over half of the large pizza we ordered! He looks cute when he eats, definitely a plus. After that display, we both agreed to head to a local playground. The trip there was quite amusing. It’s bad enough that he doesn’t like talking to the person in the passenger seat, but then his cell phone rang! With a frown, he picked it up.

“This better be good.” His look turned to one of amusement. “No, mom, I don’t always answer the phone like that. I know I should be polite. Look, mom, I’m kinda in the middle of something. No, not that! Geez, mom, get your mind out of the gutter.” His laughter sends me to another universe! “No, mom, I have respect for you. I’m just kinda doing something right now known as driving and it’s hard to do that while I’m talking. I know I’m the one with the cell phone. Yes, I know it’s to be used while I’m out. The point is I basically got it for emergencies. Well, the record company got it but I only wanted to use it while I’m gone on tour or in trouble.” There was a long pause as a bigger grin crossed his face. “No, mom, I have no clue why I’m explaining this to you. No, I’ll be staying at Brian’s tonight. I’m gonna be out late and I don’t wanna drive back if I’m tired. I know I barely see the family. I miss everyone a lot and I’ll be home tomorrow.”

As he hung up the phone my heart sank. I’m gonna be honest, Thumper. I don’t want him going anywhere. Right when he spoke those words I missed him. This isn’t a usual thing for me. I’m independent and carefree, not someone that needs to be with someone else. That’s exactly what this is turning into, though. It’s turning into something more than I ever thought. Okay, I’m getting ahead of myself here. Let’s get back to the date.

After that comical conversation, we made it to our destination. I’m surprised I was able to take my eyes off of him long enough to see the swings. I felt our hands lock together. Thumper, it was the greatest feeling!

His breath tickled my ear as he whispered softly, “You wanna go on one?” I tried to stop my body from shivering, but it was no use. “You cold?” He had done it again with the whispering. I assured him I was fine and pulled him to the swings.

“Will you push me?”

He grabbed the chains as I held on tight. “Get ready.” I’m telling you, this boy has a thing about whispering in a girl’s ear.

I felt like a child again as I went higher and higher, never knowing happiness like this before. I spotted a bench just a few feet away and got an idea. “Wanna go and talk?”

“Sure.” His grin is enough to cause a heart attack, I’m telling you!

Okay, this next part is the moment that completely melted my heart. I went to sit down on the bench next to him. In the slight light of the setting sun, I saw his eyes twinkle. “What?” I didn’t know what was going on. He was smirking and his eyes never left me.

“Come here.” I scooted closer to him, our legs touching. Man, what a chill that caused! “No, I said come here.” I gave him an odd look and the glanced down, noticing he was pointing to his lap.

Can I give this guy a big chocolate kiss for stealing my heart? His lap was nice! It’s not too squishy, not too firm, but just right. His arms wrapped around my waist as he secured my place on his body. I had to start some conversation before I turned into putty. Do you like what you do?”

His face was so close to mine as he began to speak. I’m surprised I was able to concentrate on what he was saying. “Yeah, singing is my passion. There is no way I could imagine myself doing anything different.”

“What is it you like to do in your spare time?”

“I love to play video games, but I guess you already knew that.” We both giggled. It sounded even better now that I was so close to him. “I love to draw and write poetry. Boating, I love boating! I also like hangin’ with my little brother.”

“You have siblings?”

“Yeah, four of them. I only have one brother, though. Aaron is a keeper. He’s into the same stuff as me and is even starting his own career.”

“You’re kidding! A miniature you?”

“Practically, he’s got the blonde hair and all. It’s brown eyes for him and that’s the only difference. He’s also a little more outgoing than what I am.”

“You mean he doesn’t try to coax his buddies to ask a girl out for him?”

“Nah, he’s only nine so...hey! You heard us?” I couldn’t help but laugh as he blushed and buried his head in the crook of my neck. “I can’t ever look at you again!” His voice held absolute embarrassment as he laughed, but I thought it was cute.

“Hey, it’s okay. I didn’t mean to make you blush.”

“I was blushing too?” His head was still buried, not even wanting to face me. “Oh, man!”

I backed away a little, trying to get him to look up. “You’ve been doing fine so far on this date without Brian, so I give you props!”

I guess it’s time to redeem myself, then.” I had no clue what he was talking about. “It’s time to ask you a question without any help. Can I kiss you?”

I’m wondering if he could hear my heart ker-thud! I eyed his lips after he asked, not even paying attention to the fact that I was keeping him waiting. My gaze traveled up to his eyes, seeing how impatient he was looking. “You didn’t have to ask.” My words ended as soon as the mental fireworks went off.

Let me tell you, Nick Carter is THE best kisser in the entire world! His lips are so soft! They puckered just right that they were practically hugging mine. I’m not sure if he’s had plenty of practice or if he’s kissed his pillow a lot, but whatever he’s done has been to his advantage! It would have been the perfect way to end the date, but something woke up! Thumper, if you don’t catch my drift then let me explain. I shifted on his lap a little just so he wouldn’t be uncomfortable, but it turned out to be another embarrassing moment for Nick.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered against my lips.

I tried to act nonchalant about it. “Sorry for what?”

I felt him smirk as he kissed me again. “Don’t tell me you didn’t notice.”

“Well, yeah, I did. I just didn’t want to say anything.”

“Don’t worry, it’s a compliment.” I couldn’t help but giggle, soon stopping once his lips were pressed against mine again. “It’s also the perfect note to end on.” He sounded uncomfortable as he spoke, but I allowed him to lead me back to the Durango while his arm draped over my shoulder.

“Wait, I wanted one thing before we left here.”

“Out in public? Out in the open? On our first date?”

I looked oddly at him until he cracked a smile. “No, not that! That’s saved for our second date.” His eyes widened and looked almost hopeful. “I wanted to hear you sing.”

“Whatcha wanna hear?”

I actually got him to sing ‘Time After Time’! It’s one of my favorite songs from the eighties. In my opinion, Nick did better than Miss Lauper ever did! To top it off, we swayed back and forth in each other’s arms while he belted out the tune. What a prince!

The ride back was quiet. My lips were still burning and my hand was extremely warm as he continued to hold it. My spirits sank the closer we got to my house. Before I knew it, the engine had stopped and we were in the driveway.

“Do you want me to walk you to the door?” I simply nodded my response, not trusting my voice to speak. Our eyes locked once we stopped at the door. “I had a wonderful time.”

He looked so handsome. Hearing those words from his mouth was magical. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to form an intelligible sentence after he spoke. “So did I.”

“Is it one you’d want to relive?”

“I’d love to!” We both laughed at my sudden spirit lift.

“Holly, I like you. I like you a lot. Would you wanna go out with me again?”

Well, needless to say, Thumper, I have another date with Nick! Except this time I have a whole week to go mental instead of just a day! Can I keep sane? I’ll be writing you after the next escapade unless something interesting happens before then. Chow!

Nick felt his face almost aching from smiling so much as he read the final lines of the second entry. He remembered exactly what she looked like on that date and it made him ‘wake up’ all over again. He smirked at the awkward moment he had shared with her. She laughed it off while other girls would have taken advantage of the moment and used him for his body. He couldn’t blame it all on the others. He consented to every torrid night he shared with them. Once he met Holly though, she made him feel truly good about the sexual side of life.

His hand quickly turned the page, wondering if she saved the next entry for their second date or if something more interesting came up before then.
