One of the parts of figure skating that I love are the costumes...and I love talking about costumes too, so I thought I'd make a tribute to the skaters who wear the costumes I love!

Don't you see dresses in magazines and on TV and think 'hey, that would be killer as a figure skating costume'? No? Okay, maybe I'm weird...(more to come)

I saw this dress in the store and right away I thought 'that is SO figure skating!' Unfortunately, it is made for size 0 model-types (or Fumie Suguri), so it would have been wholly unflattering on me. Actually the pic on the BCBG site didn't even show the colour properly so I tried to make it look more like it was in the store with Photoshop. It also has really dainty, pretty chain flowers on it. Hard to describe, but veddy pretty. I know what you're thinking...'Hey, I've seen that dress before, and it's hideous!' Yes, yes it is hideous. However, notice how I cropped off the freaky bejewelled/feathery choker thing, as well as the excessivley beaded hem? Now imagine a floaty chiffon hem and is it not soo Sarah Hughes? Hehe. I'm actually not a #1 fan of this dress, but as a figure skating costume, it could totally be a modern-day verison of Nancy Kerrigan's Vera Wang dress, no?
