PROVIDENCE COLLEGE |
Player: Tony Zancanaro Year: 2003-04 Make: CCM |
Providence briefly used this home alternate in 2003-04 before going back to their older style. The detailed crest and shoulder patches are made of a reflective thread that makes the logos stand out. The traditional "skating friar" also still appears on the jersey, on the back hem. The jersey shows great wear with numerous stick marks and board burns, as well as massive amounts of pilling around the collar area, despite being worn for only a handful of games. It also features the tough-to-find Hockey East 20 year patch. Tony, the identical twin brother of BU's Brad Zancanaro, is a small (5'6") player who plays a scrappy game for the Friars. He was selected as an alternate captain in only his sophomore season, and served as captain in his junior and senior seasons. |

Player: Bobby Goepfert Year: 2003-04 Make: CCM |
From the same set as the previous jersey. This jersey shows great goalie wear, including a long slash mark that runs from the shoulder all the way to the crest. The sleeves have also been widened and extended. Goepfert, who is now playing at St. Cloud, had a fantastic year with the Huskies in 05-06 and was a Second Team All-American as well as an all-WCHA First Team selection. In 06-07, he was again on the all-WCHA First Team and was a top-10 finalist for the Hobey Baker award. He was a 6th round pick of the Penguins in the 2002 draft. |

Player: Tony Zancanaro Year: 2003-04 Make: CCM |
This is the new-style road jersey Providence wore before switching back to the traditional skating friar logo. These jerseys were only used in one game against BC, and it's one of the best-looking college jerseys around. The 20 year Hockey East patch was not sewn onto these jerseys. This jersey shows great wear for a one-game wonder, with some light burns on the arms and a mark or two on the sleeve numbers. |

Player: Colin McDonald Year: 2003-04 Make: Nike |
After alumni at Providence complained about the new logos, the team switched back to these jerseys (first introduced in 2002-03). It brings back the standard "skating friar" design, with some alterations to the sleeve and hem stripes. This jersey has fantastic wear with many gigantic stick marks. Colin McDonald is one of the biggest NHL prospects in Hockey East, and was a second round pick (51 overall) of the Oilers in 2003. He was also selected to the Hockey East All-Rookie team in 03-04. He will serve as a team captain in 06-07. |

Player: Bryan Horan Year: 2004-05 Make: CCM |
Providence took many of the elements of their plethora of 03-04 jerseys and incorporated them into this nice style for 04-05. They utilized the new fonts and shield designs while keeping the skating Friar intact, but also used a new color pattern on the jersey. This solid-knit jersey shows nice wear with several dark stick marks and some board burns on the sleeves. |

As opposed to the home jerseys from this season, the roads never had names worn on the back. It is a CCM solid-knit with everything sewn on--exactly like its home counterpart. |

Player: Tony Zancanaro Year: 2005-07 Make: Reebok |
The Friars used this style for two seasons beginning in 2005-06. The crest was changed to that of a large skating friar, and the lettering and numbering was made thicker. This is the smallest jersey in my collection; it is a size 52 and has been hemmed up significantly, to fit Zancanaro's diminutive frame. It shows great wear with lots of stick marks and unrepaired holes. This was worn in his junior and senior seasons, where he served as captain both years. |
