Deployment
We drew weapons, boarded a C-130, and were off to war. It was an exilerating feeling knowing that in about twelve hours we were going to be in a war torn country on the other side of the world.
The trip was exhausting. "Hurry up and wait", is what the army calls it. We rush and rush, like if we dont make it on time we'll never make it to Iraq. But after the strenuous hours of travel we made it.
It's nothing like you see on television. Everything is real here. Anyone can sit at home and judge what they see on their television. But when you come face to face with the poverty and violence that inhabits this country...it's quite breathtaking.
