Personality (before Impresion): Shiffer is very vengeful when it comes to protecting his family and soon-to-be Hold. He has a brilliant mind to plan out rescue missions and carry them through. He’s a tough no-nonsense type of guy, and refuses to have people step all over him. He is kind to those who are kind to him and those whom he knows are kind-hearted, and he willingly protects anyone he thinks is in the right.
Personality (after Impression): Shiffer is still very protective. He has not forgotten what is power-hungry Uncle Itar said to him just before he left. He was extremely eager to get hom and check on his family, to make sure they were all right, and when Opasth was old enough, he did just that. Even contacting them every day had not reassured him that they were all doing fine until he saw them for himself.
History: Shiffer was taken from his father a year after he was born and sent to his uncle’s (Uncle Shille) hold to learn to become a Lord Holder. That plan was ruined when dragonriders came by in his later years to help him preform a rescue mission when his Uncle Itar had kidnapped Pitiraon. They, even though not Searchriders themselves, had Searchd him. His Uncle Shille was fine with this and provided the excuse that Shiffer’s sister and her new husband could run this Hold and the one they were running by combining the lands. But, instead of standing at the clutch his female cousin, Mirrial, stood at, he went to Alskyr instead and bonded a male gold named Opasth.

Personality: Opasth is protective, much like his rider, of his family and friends. When his white sister hatched, he moved to protect her from a candidate that was getting too close to his white sibling, who had tumbled from her egg. And only when he had been sure that she was all right, had he turned his eyes to the bonders and found Shiffer.
Opasth is happy wherever his rider is happy, and when Shiffer decided it was time to return to his family on Pern, Opath was all for it. And found Pern much more to his liking than Alskyr.
History: Opasth was hatched on Alskyr at Caer Brynmor. He bonded to a human male from Pern named Shiffer. Being from Pern, Shiffer could have taken an honorary, considering the fact that he wanted to return as well. But Shiffer made it clear to Opasth that he didn't want an honorary and Opasth accepted that fact.
Just as Opasth is different from the dragons on Pern, so is Shiffer from the male dragonriders on Pern. And both rider and dragon accept that with the utmost pride.
