Kansas City Crows Official Fan Website

Kansas City, Mo--Since our last update nearly 4 months ago, alot of things have happened with the Kansas City Crows. Alot of things have not changed, however. John Kruk is still the Crows manager. BJ Bradley-Carl is still the Kansas City franchise owner. The team continues to compete for a playoff spot on a weekly basis, yet they remain underachievers in the consistency category, primarily with starting pitching. In additon, FEBL press coverage for the Crows has been practically nill since the beginning of the season despite the team's excellence in run production to the highest degree and a constant flirtation with 1st place in the PL east. "Some people might attribute it to KC being a small market, but I think it has more to do with the fact that we have spent ZERO time in first place since I took over this team," answered Carl when asked why he thought there was such a lack of buzzing in the FEBL about the Crows. "I'd agree. With the parody of the FEBL, it seems there is always a new first place team to talk about. Pass the barbecue sauce, would ya, BJ?" added Krukie. In the meantime, it is also important for The Crows front office to plan for the future. After All Star catcher Rafael Rarick was signed to a long term deal last season, one question remained: Who will stay and who will go? Several of the KC players who have no contract after the conclusion of the 2005 season have the luxury of demanding large monetary figures on the FEBL open market. All Star CF Jerry Sant, although expected to stay in Kansas City, could be looking at a package deal of over $30 million, similar to that of Rarick's. 1B Hanson Burns, LF Lefty Miller, and CL Ed Deines also top the list of question marks for the Crows. "Hypothetically, we'd like to keep everyone. The FEBL salary cap (God love it!) prevents us from doing that. Not every player is going to be willing to take a pay cut to stay in Kansas City like Raffy did. We don't expect them to. We do feel, however, that we are close to being a championship ball club. It's important to make the right moves from here on out," Carl commented. Thank you for stopping by our site. Please come back and visit us occasionally.
