WELCOME TO TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH! We invite you to join us as we seek, by God’s grace, to carry out the “Great Commission” that Jesus gave to His church: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20). It is our prayer that the Triune God would continually guide us to remain faithful to His unchanging Word, and “to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3).

TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH IS A BIBLICAL CHURCH. We believe that the canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were written by divine inspiration, and that they are therefore completely true and without error in all respects. We submit to the Holy Scriptures as the only infallible rule and norm of Christian doctrine and practice. “...you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH IS AN EVANGELICAL CHURCH. We recognize that the central message of Scripture is the Gospel, or “Good News,” that God has forgiven our sins and has given us eternal life through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the divine-human Savior of the world. “...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus...” (Romans 3:23-24). “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH IS A SACRAMENTAL CHURCH. We believe that forgiveness, life, and salvation are truly offered and bestowed through the Gospel, since it is “the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes...” (Romans 1:16). We believe that this is true also of Holy Baptism, which is “the washing of water by the word” (Ephesians 5:26), and the Lord’s Supper, in which Christ Himself declares that the bread which is offered to us is His body and that the wine is His “blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” (Matthew 26:28). “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children...” (Acts 2:38-39). “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?” (1 Corinthians 10:16). The blessings that God has connected with His Word and Sacraments can, of course, be personally received only through faith, since “without faith it is impossible to please Him” (Hebrews 11:6).

TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH IS A LITURGICAL CHURCH. As heirs of the Lutheran Reformation, and in keeping with what is best in the orthodox Lutheran tradition, we gratefully embrace as our own that catholic heritage which is common to all Christians. Our respect for the edifying customs and good examples of the past is reflected especially in our use of the historic Liturgy and Creeds, and of many historic hymns, which remind us of our continuity and oneness with God’s people of all times and places. “Remember those...who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines” (Hebrews 13:7-9).

TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH IS A WELL-ESTABLISHED CHURCH. Our congregation was founded in 1946, and is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Synod. The ELS is a Confessional Lutheran church body with over 140 congregations in 20 states. It operates Bethany Lutheran College and Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary, both located in Mankato, Minnesota, and is very active in home and foreign mission work. The ELS is a member church of the Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference.
