9 / 10
While house-sitting for two weeks, I watched the whole Wallace & Gromit series (each of the three films are less than half an hour.) I'd seen Chicken Run (and thought it was splendid) but had never seen any Wallace & Gromit. Well, what a treat.
The fact that every tiny detail is constructed from clay make the Wallace & Gromit films ever so impressive. The same story told with real life or cartoon characters wouldn't have half as much charm. And Wallace and Gromit's quirky little habits and British idioms are extremely entertaining.
Although Wallace is a very cheerful little character, there is a certain darkness to the films. Ominous music fills the air while shifty characters like Feathers (the devious little penguin in The Wrong Trousers) muck about. And each film manages to have exciting little action sequences which are amazingly animated.
So if you haven't done so already, go out and watch all three films - A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers, & A Close Shave. I recommend that they be watched with a spot of tea... and some cheese if you're feeling a bit peckish.
