What God Says About Brotherly Love
And Obedience

Brotherly Love

..."And so I am giving a new commandment to you now -- Love each other just as much as I love you. Your strong love for each other will prove to the world that you are my disciples."
John 13:34-35

...Don't just pretend that you love others: really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. Love each other with brotherly affection and take delight in honoring each other.
Romans 12:9-10

...But concerning the pure brotherly love that there should be among God's people, I don't need to say very much, I'm sure! For God himself is teaching you to love one another.
1 Thessalonians 4:9

...Anyone who says he is walking in the light of Christ but dislikes his fellow man is still in darkness. But whoever loves his fellow man is "walking in the light" and can see his way without stumbling around in darkness and sin. For he who dislikes his brother is wandering in spiritual darkness and doesn't know where he is going, for the darkness has made him blind so that he cannot see the way.
1 John 2:9-11

...But if you keep on sinning, it shows that you  belong to Satan, who since he first began to sin has kept steadily at it. But the Son of God came to destroy these works of the devil.
1 John 3:8

...Dear friends, let us practice loving each other, for love comes from God and those who are loving and kind show that they are Children of God, and that they are getting to know him better. But if a person isn't loving and kind, it shows that he doesn't know God -- for God is love.
1 John 4:7-9

...Now you can have real love for everyone because your souls have been cleansed from selfishness and hatred when you trusted Christ to save you; so see to it that you really do love each other warmly with all your hearts.
1 Peter 1:22

...Since you have been chosen by God who has given you this new kind of life, and because of  his deep love and concern for you, you should practice tender-hearted mercy and kindness to each other. Don't worry about making a good impression on them, but be ready to suffer quickly and patiently, be gentle and ready to forgive; never hold grudges. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
 Collosians 3:12-13

Obedience

..."Look today I have set before you life and death, depending on whether you obey or disobey. I have commanded you today to love the Lord your God and to follow his paths and to keep his laws, so that you will live and become a great nation, and so that the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to possess.
Deuteronomy 30:15-16

...Therefore, obey the terms of this covenant so that you will prosper in everything that you do.
Deuteronomy 29:9

...Oh, that they would always have such a heart for me, wanting to obey my commandments, then all would go well with them and the future, and with their children throughout all generations!
Deuteronomy 5:29

...Therefore, Oh Israel, listen closely to each command and be careful to obey it, so that all will go well, with you, and so that you will have many children. If you obey these commands you will become a great nation, glorious land 'flowing with milk and honey,' even as the God of your fathers promised you.
Deuteronomy 6:3

...Only then will you be doing what is right and good in the Lord's eyes. If you obey him, all will go well for you, and you will be able to go in and possess the good land the Lord promised your ancestors.
Deuteronomy 6:18

...Because of your obedience, the Lord your God will keep his part of the contract which, in his tender love, he made your fathers.
Deuteronomy 7:12

...Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you.
Phillippians 4:9

...And so if anyone breaks the least commandment and teaches others to, shall be the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But those who teach God's laws and obey them shall be great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Matthew 5:19

..."Not all who sound religious are really godly people. They may to refer to me as 'Lord' but still won't get to Heaven. For the decisive questions and whether they obey my Father in Heaven."
Matthew 7:21

..."All who listen to my instructions and follow them are wise, like a man who builds his house on solid rock. Through the rain comes in torrents, and the floods rise and the storm winds beat against his house, it won't collapse for it is built on rock."
Matthew 7:24-25

...Then he added,"Anyone who obeys my Father in Heaven is my brother, sister, mother!"
Matthew 12:50

..."If they listen and obey him, then they will be blessed with prosperity throughout their lives."
Job 36:11

...He will punish sin wherever it is found. He will punish the heathen when they sin, even though they never had God's written laws, for down in their hearts they know right from wrong. God's laws are written within them; their own conscience accuses them, or sometimes excuses them. And God will punish the Jews for sinning because they have his written laws but don't obey them. They know what is right but don't do it. After all, salvation is not given to those who know what to do, unless they do it.
Romans 2:12-15

...And we know that all that happened to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans.

..."With all the earnestness I have I tell you this -- no one who obeys me shall ever die!"

..."You didn't choose me! I chose you! I appointed you to go and produce lovely fruit always, so that no matter what you asked for from the Father using my name, he will give it to you."
John 15:16

...But if anyone keeps looking steadily into God's law for free men, he will not remember it but he will do what it says, and God will greatly bless him and everything he does.
James 1:25

...And this world is fading away, and these evil, forbidden things will go with it, but who ever keeps doing the will of God will live for ever.
1 John 2:17
...And get whatever we ask for because we are obeying him and doing the things that please him.
1 John 3:22
