Frasier is a sophisticated comedy all about the trials and tribulations of Dr. Frasier Crane a Harvard
graduate with a degree in psychiatry.
He hosts a call in talk show where patients call in and receive help by his own brand of pompous advice
and so the hilarity ensues.
Frasier moved back to Seattle in 1993 from Boston, where you may remember he spent many an hour with his
old cronies the "Cheers" gang. After moving he found himself reunited with none other than his father
Martin Crane (presumed dead by all at Cheers but, that's another
story).
His father who is a retired policeman was shot in the hip several years earlier and is forced to walk with a
cane. Frasier feeling guilty takes him in. That's two! Soon it is realized that he cannot care for his father
24\7 and needs outside help.
Enter Daphne Moon physical therapist and self declared psychic. She now takes it upon herself to give Martin
his daily exercises and lives with the Crane men doing the cooking (which they REALLY resent since she is
English. nuff said.) as well as other chores.
When Niles (Frasiers younger brother who is also a psychiatrist) lays eyes on Daphne a deep infatuation
emerges but, the good doctor witch at this point is
married is too timid to inform the tantalizing Brit of his adoration so, he relegates himself for over six
years to just smelling her hair and blurting out the occasional Freudian slip. Ex. "Don't worry I'll
snuggle you under a warm blanket" to which she replies "Don't you mean smuggle"? He saucily retorts "I'm
using code language, you can't be too careful".
Frasier is assisted on his talk show by radio producer Roz Doyle a women never known to turn down a date with
any living member of the opposite sex except for Noel a middle aged trekkie that works at the station.
Although you never know. She had a baby a couple of seasons ago and to much a gasp Niles finally declared
his love for Daphne and are currently in a dating relationship. So, now that you know what the show is
about make sure not to miss another episode. Frasier airs Tuesdays at 9:00pm on NBC.
