Lacy Blossom Square
Ok, I think THIS one is now my favourite! It must be nice, because my dear husband said, "Gee, that's kind of cool!"

Small amount of 3 ply worsted weight yarn
 Col A (Dusty Rose)
 Col B (green)

Size 4.5 crochet hook

with Col A, ch 4, sl to form a ring.

RND 1: ch 2 (counts as first hdc) 11 hdc in rind, join with sl to first hdc

RND 2: ch 1, sc in same st as joining, ch 6, sk next 2 sts (sc in next st, ch 6, sk next 2 sts) 3 times, join with sl to first sc ( 4 ch 6 sps)

RND 3: sl in first sc, ch 5, sl in sp *(ch 5, sl in sc, ch 5, sl in next sp) 3 times, ch 5, sl in first sl. (8 ch 5 sps)

RND 4: ch 4, sl in next sp, (ch 4, sl in next sl, ch 4, sl in next sp) 7 times, ch 4, sl in first sl (16 ch-4 sps)

RND 5: sl in first sp, ch 1 (sc, hdc, ch 1, hdc, sc all in the same sp) around, join with sl to first sc (16 ch-1 sps) finish off Col A

RND 6: working in missed st of RND 1, join with Col B in any st right after sc of RND 2. ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in same st, 2 dc in next st ch 3 *(2 dc in next st) twice, ch 3, rep from * 2 MORE times, join with sl to first dc.

RND 7: ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next 3 sts, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner space [dc in next 4 sts (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner sp] 3 times, join with sl to first dc.

To work joining st (jst) yo, inset hook through closest sc of RND 5 and corner sp of RND 7, yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull through all three loops on hook: jst made. NOTE: there will be 4 petals from round 5 on each side of the square. (I hope this makes sense! I didn't know how else to write it!)

RND 8: ch 2 (counts as first hdc) hdc in next 5 sts, [(hdc, jst, hdc) in corner sp, hdc in next 8 sts] 3 times, (hdc, jst, hdc) in next corner sp, hdc in next 2 sts, join with sl to first hdc.

RND 9 : sl in next st, ch 2, hdc in next st (ch 3, hdc in next 2 sts) twice, *( hdc, ch 4, hdc) in next st, hdc in next 2 sts, (ch 3, hdc in next 2 sts) 4times, rep from * 2 MORE times (hdc, ch 4, hdc) in next st, (hdc in next 2 sts, ch 3) twice, join with sl to first hdc.

RND 10: sl in next st and next sp, ch 1, 2 sc in same sp, ch 2, 2 sc in next sp, ch 3  *(hdc, ch 3, hdc) in corner sp, ch 3 (2 sc in next sp, ch 2) 3 times, 2 sc in next sp, ch 3, rep from * 2 MORE times, (hdc, ch 3, hdc) in corner sp, ch 3 (2 sc in next sp, ch 2) twice, join with sl to first st. Finish off Col B.

RND 11: with col A, join with sl in any corner sp, ch 1 *(2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) in corner sp, 3 sc in next sp (sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next sp) 3 times, sc in next 2 st, 3 sc in next sp, rep from * 3 MORE times join with sl

NOTE: in the example in the picture, I added a 12th row, doing sc in back loops only, working 3 sc in the corners, then I finished off and wove in the ends. This made the square a bit bigger than 6", but I like it with an extra row of pink around it.
