Saturday, November 19, 2000 Shame on the Parole Board!!? - GRIPES @ 9:00 pm PST What the ^$##$#$&* is wrong with our justice system? Steven Kummerfield gets six and a half years in prison for his part in the beating death of a woman in Regina, a woman who was 28 yrs. old and a mother of 2 children, who was beaten so bad her casket could NOT be open at her funeral. So the parole board in their infinite wisdom parole him after only 3 yrs? What kind of parole did Pamela Jean George get? My heart goes out to the family of Pamela Jean George, it's hardly fair is it? millers

Saturday, November 11, 2000 Let me see if I got this right? - GRIPES @ 10:50 pm PST Police across Canada are looking for a 73 year old man, who has escaped from a prison in the Kingston area. James Hutchison was sentenced to hang, (and had his sentence commuted to life when Canada repealed the death penalty), for his part in the murders of two Moncton, N.B. police officers who were forced to dig shallow graves and then were shot. Hutchison is described as "armed and dangerous", a continual escape risk and a security threat. 3 years ago the National Parole board determined that Hutchison should only be permitted into the community with leg and hand restraints and escorted by two prison guards. So how is it that James Hutchison was permitted to take part in a work training program at the humane society and then "fail" to return to the prison? Why, may I ask did Corrections Canada permit this individual this freedom? How can we protect ourselves, our children and our communities when "dangerous " individuals such as Hutchison are permitted to walk around free when they are supposed to be incarcerated. SHAME ON YOU CORRECTIONS CANADA , FOR NOT HAVING THE BEST INTERESTS OF CANADIANS AS A PRIORITY!!!! millers

Sunday, September 24, 2000 YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!! - GRIPES @ 12:30 pm PST Last night in Victoria, someone,"BOOTED" alcohol for a couple of minor children, we are talking about 13 year old girls here. It was very fortunate for one of those girls, that she got help when she did!! Besides falling and hitting her head while she was "under the influence", and blacking out, she had alcohol poisoning. That little girl could have DIED, and she almost did! Her alcohol level was an astonishing 61%. I must ask WHY would anyone supply children with booze?? To be fair she is the one who wanted the Vodka, but there is a word called NO! Think about it, do you want someone to purchase alcohol for YOUR child. Have you no common sense? What you did was dangerous and illegal! I have a problem with people who, without thinking would actually purchase liquor for minor children. HAPPY ENDING, THANX TO THE QUICK RESPONSE OF THE VICTORIA POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND THE BC AMBULANCE SERVICE!!! millers
