Chart Explanation

As of December 14, 2001, the BT20 countdown is now deteremined in a new way.

There are two components involved in the chart. #1 National airplay based on the Mediabase Pop Chart. -The Thursday edition is the chart used in the process. -The songs earn points according to chart positioning The formula is: 31 - chart position = points earned If the song isn't in the Top 30 on Mediabase it earns 0. -To see the Mediabase chart, click here. #2 Personal liking of the song. -This is simply scoring the song on a scale of 0-50. -The song then gets that number in points. Finally, a song's two numbers are added together equaling the point total. Then the songs are ranked starting with the most points. This forms the weekly Bill's Top 20. In case of a tie, the song with more points from personal liking earns the better spot. Ultimately, my personal liking is still largely taken into account, but radio airplay is also brought into the mix. So, from December 14, 2001 on, this new format will be used.
